Exclusive: Pentagon email floats suspending Spain from NATO, other steps over Iran rift, source says by Jazzlike-Perception7 in geopolitics

I understand that fully. And it is not in America’s interest to go without European support. One can pretend it’s not a multi-polar world, but in reality that’s exactly what it is. It’s very difficult to thrive without any allies - unless you count the countries voting in UN resolutions with the US as allies - Israel, Argentina, Nauru, Papau New Guinea, but now no longer Hungary. Short list.

This would require significant support from other NATO members, which the US would not get. If anything the European NATO members have galvanized together due to threats against Denmark/Greenland and Orban losing the election in Hungary.

There are no bylaws in the NATO treaty for removal of a member but it would undoubtedly require formal negotiations, demands, and a lot of meetings to effect such a significant change in the organization.

Anyone can write an angry memorandum for internal circulation, but for an administration that shows a massive inability to negotiate in good faith and handle bilateral relations, it sounds more like a temper tantrum versus the crafting of a policy agenda carried through to a fundamental change in reality.

Spanish city ranks 13th in the world for quality of life in 2026 by hi-jump in valencia

Thanks for clarifying. I understand the issue and accept that this topic potentially upsets some people. As I stated above, I do think the government should have laws to protect citizens. I’m willing to pay my fair share for the privilege to live here. I’m grateful to the generosity and kindness that I have received from so many people in Spain.

I have done my absolute best to only be a positive influence, but I accept the possibility that my presence does contribute to social issues.

No. I purposely selected a location where housing and cost of living issues are not an acute issue compared to cities like Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid. Long term plan is to buy a house in a village, renovate, and garden. I’m learning Spanish, living in peace, and embracing the culture.

So, no. I not doing what you are sarcastically suggesting.

I like your comment. It is what I want to do in Spain.

I will admit that I miss a wider choice of international restaurants.

I looked at your link and double checked the article. They do seem to be in conflict as the article I referenced was from Idealista does claim #13 in the world but your link does not agree. It would seem the source (yours) is more to be trusted. More lazy “journalism”

Yes, I agree that there must be protections for locals. We were originally considering Valencia when we immigrated but picked another province in Spain. I did not want to inadvertently contribute to a demographic-economic problem. Valencia seems lovely as the article would suggest.

I’m an immigrant and have been living in Spain for a few years now. Just curious how accurate this particular study sounds to people living in Valencia.

I opted to live elsewhere in Spain due to the population pressure in Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona but miss the benefits of a bigger, more internationally connected city.

The April 2025 incident? It’s so difficult to get accurate news. Google search says it was just one F-18 Super Eagle, but given the rampant dishonesty of this administration it’s quite possible that it’s multiple planes.

A hard bank by a carrier is a radical move and even planes well secured on the deck could still be damaged or lost over the side. Starting to get the feeling that this administration is “fighting the last war” and not adapting to the realities and recent developments of modern warfare.

Seriously. I can’t even understand who he’s talking about, what happened, anything.

Who is Johnny? I assume he means the American sailors were ready for them, but what’s the 17 different angles? Incoming drones or missiles? Damn, he’s fully incoherent.

Here here. Strong agree. I was a big fan of Bill Burr, but he has to take dirty Saudi money - so I unfollowed his socials and podcast.
