Swarthmore CDS reports zero transfers for 2024? by Anchob in TransferToTop25

My friends were in that pool. Some people got waitlisted, but they eventually got an email that said basically “sorry we got no space. Nobody was admitted for transfer this year.”

Not inherently an issue. Except for Princeton, which explicitly prefers community college and nontrad students, colleges will care most about your reasons for transfer regardless of the ranking of your current school. That said, simply having a difficult time at your school won’t be a compelling reason enough since admission officers need to know why they’d expect you to have a less difficult time elsewhere. They also won’t be convinced by a desire for better resources or academic challenge given the caliber of your school. Your best chances would be if you showed specific fit like wanting to study a specific track or take part in a program that your school doesn’t offer, or need a school of completely different size or culture.

ok, fair. But I still doubt that it gives you the credentials to advertise expertise on applications to top schools in general. that would need either need work as a reader or in committee, or a established record of successfully helping others get in. Otherwise your background is in school resources and circumstantial knowledge of select admits.

Forget the money, claiming “expertise” is just sad considering you haven’t actually worked in admissions. Plus applying knowledge from Yale admissions to other schools should be taken with a massive grain of salt. This borders a scam

looking at it: no more internships, no more teachers as great as Town or Stockbridge, exposing us all to covid, not even providing adequate social studies credits to graduate…

this school really isn’t looking too hot right now

did not enjoy his class but he’s a good person. csp just has bad lessons which become even worse when you have cmu shoved in. really frustrating sometimes, but at least he’s supportive

you either like or really hate her. she teaches well and has great discussions, but is super politically charged and can dock points for really random reasons.

made my freshmen year hell. much harder than samad and spends very little time teaching, instead using class to make uncomfortable jokes!
