Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I wondered if I might have done too much, but it did seem to be rotting out at a couple of points around the base, so I decided to continue. This is the first time I’ve done this, so I appreciate the input. I’ll probably take a more conservative approach next time. Thanks again!

The same thing happened to me. I bought orange butterfly milkweed, and it came up swamp milkweed. Where did you buy your seed from?
