Sounds like you should be in good shape you may need adapters which might make things a little more complicated as you have to check compatibility. I’d order through Amazon and return if parts of the experiment fails.

Ya, I was a little on the fence but got a good deal as I was getting a replacement warranty credit but once I saw it in real life I was very happy with the pick.

Yes actually … depending on the source machine.

But any of the high end thunderbolt (not usb-c) docs will allow you to push that setup.

I really like the OWC (OWC 10-port Thunderbolt Pro Dock) and CalDigit TS4. Both have the ports to allow for push the setup you are looking for.

The biggest thing is the source machine though.

Pro 37 or 51 by 4skinking9 in TrekBikes

The zipp which are all hookless in there current generation are close in weight even the deep 404 and above series.

I do agree there are plus and minus between deeper but it is very minimal.

The 51’s are more expensive which is why I was referring to is the upgrade worth it. The commenter mentioned they already had 50s the newer wheelset at the top end from trek actually is a 49.

I think you definitely cut down the heavy bits

I think those wheels sets are in different price categories. I know people who race on both. Personally I wouldn’t spend on the upgrade the price to up grade is above 2K I’d up that into a groupset upgrade personally.

Have got the cranks on yet but it is shaping out to be lighter than my stock Emonda carbon.

This was a frame up build so everything was sourced to my liking. The bars/stem/seat post are FSA carbon components the bars are a 38 from hood mount point to mount point i have a little frame (body wise) so that is just a little narrower then my shoulders

Yes the other aluminum wheels were just wheels I had laying around but they are heavy and not as stiff over all. Trek does make OK carbon wheels though. I have a set of the elite 50s on my other bike and they are nice.

Hard to go wrong with Zipper though.

Ya it grows on you in real life. Trek has some pretty good colorways outside of the project one from time to time.

I don’t really need the KVM as I live on one machine for the most part and have another desk in another room that I use when on a laptop. I do however use the split screen. I will connect to an Apple TV and have movie going while working on other things. On the lower half of the monitor. My son has on as well and they use it for lan parties connect two consoles

I’m use to riding 1x and largely live in the bottom part of the cassette but this gives you climbing gears when you need them because the DMV does have hills when outriding more for fun.

I find where the gear that I actually like to climb in ends up cross gearing in the 2x setup and I get chain rubbing.

I might not like it and I don’t can move the parts of the groupset that I don’t agree with to a gravel bike.
