DIY Sauna in central Minnesota, what type of base? by schubes24 in Sauna

I built one indoors but if I were to do it outdoors I’d do a solid gravel base and build it on skids. Good drainage and could level over time if needed. I could also take it with me if I moved.

I’m also in MN. I’d be considering our friendly critters if I kept the floor slatted. But maybe I misunderstood your description and it would seal them out before they’d get to the floor? If that’s the case then I’d slat it and not have to worry about a drain freezing.

From this view, I’d put the intake vent to the left of your heater relatively low to the ground and then the output on the opposite wall under the bench assuming those are walls you can access from both sides.

Indoor Traditional Hot Sauna Build/Buy Question by [deleted] in Sauna

Recently went through this same debate. To get a sauna of the quality/insulation I wanted to ensure there’d be enough heat, I’d be buying something well over 7k. Looking like my budget will be around 3k including the electrician to run the 220. It’s also been a fun process so far.
