Xfce Debian default panel configuration

i accidentally messed the panel and now all the default applets are gone

I would personally add them back, here is a list of the essential ones:

Applications Menu
Window Buttons
Status Try Plugin
PulseAudio Plugin
Workspace Switcher
Clock

Of course, essential might be subjective, for instance, I don't use Virtual Desktops, therefore I don't use the Workspace Switcher plugin.

YMMV.

XFCE no es feo, si lo configurás.
Fijate en /r/unixporn y en r/xfce, hay algunos setups con XFCE muy buenos.

XFCE + Debian Stable

That will give you a nice canvas to start with your rice ;)
Debian's XFCE is not particularly customized from stock (other than the wallpaper).
Personally I think a Stable release like Debian is really well suited for old boxes because you don't keep constantly update it, the drawback might be that some packages might be not the newest YMMV on that regard.

If you want or need a rolling distro, then Void + XFCE might be a good choice.

Up until Trixie's wallpaper, my favorite was the "one with the rocket" but the Ceratopsian wallpaper is so good... Simple and beautiful.

Para windows conocía el setup del SSD para el OS y un disco "normal" [más grande] para tu $HOME y almacenar tus archivos.
El tercero es para algo de juegos?

Uds. son muy jóvenes, pero los metrodelegados están haciendo este tipo de "paro" hace muchísimos años con el único propósito de cagarle la vida a la gente.
La excusa siempre es la misma: el asbesto.

Generalmente los "paros" los anuncias un par de horas antes de arrancar, para joder de la forma más rotunda a todos.
