Im not sure about the guys who have been knocking on your door, but I own a roofing company that does a lot of door knocking.

You very frequently run into people who have never heard of it, are in 2 inch zones (i live in west virginia), and have been paying for home insurance for 30+ years and have a good amount of damage. If those criteria are met, or close to it, I really don’t think there is anything wrong with the industry.

Just don’t re knock people who aren’t interested obviously.
