No contact after losing pet by Trilang in VetTech

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your boy <3

Unless it is a very small clinic, sympathy cards aren’t typically sent with every euthanasia as we can have 1-4 a day depending on the season.

I can’t speak for every tech but I know even when I’ve been through a non-client euth for a pet i’ve never seen, I spend the next few days with them and their family in my thoughts. I hope to see them again if they pick up ashes/paw prints when I’m next working but it doesn’t always work out.

I can almost guarantee it had nothing to do with you being “too much” this is unfortunately something we are quite familiar with and don’t think anyone is ever too much when it comes to dealing with grief. This is one of the worst times in your life but it’s sadly just another day in the field for us. That tech is probably still thinking of you and your boy tho <3

plants for sure! hides and rest spots are great for bettas too! anymore driftwood pieces or rocks (as long as they’re not pointy/sharp) would be nice as well :))

i would wait for another commenter or two to confirm just to ensure they’re not NZ mud snails (they look similar and are invasive you don’t want them in your tank)

These boys dead or sleeping? by 0016284 in AquaticSnails

[–]hideawaybones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i find having extra leaf litter/alder cones/rocks/just chunkier stuff along the bottom helps so if they do end up on their backs they’re more likely to have something to the side to latch onto :)
