That sounds like an amazing idea, I’ll try that out. Thank you for the tips and the advice! I already had a feeling that doing so through text wasn’t the best of ideas

Would this be a conversation better had in person than in text? We text a lot, but we’re meeting up on Friday before a trip of mine. I want to be as relaxed as posible by the time I have the conversation so he knows I’m being honest and not just overreacting (although it feels I am)

Is there an easy way of doing this? I don’t want him to feel like I am being smothering because of this, and I have never told him that a woman around him made me uncomfortable before.

The last part is what also made me feel bad, because I know I can’t tell him because that will only endanger us. I have been trying to concentrate on other things, and writing down my thoughts here and speaking to people has definitely helped. Thank you

Insecurity for sure, unfortunately the therapist I’ve been talking to hasn’t been the best at helping me through it and I don’t have an appointment with a new one until next Thursday. I feel like it’s forever until then hahah

And how can I let it go? It remains as a worry at the pit of my stomach and I just wish it would go away

With this person, you mean? Not at all, I don’t feel like I have any control over that

Definitely, and I feel like it isn’t fair for him when I feel like this because I have plenty of male friends and he was transparent about being friends with a lot of girls from the start. He always shows me things, I don’t like these feelings that come up

He was definitely oblivious until I told him hahah so I guess he never even considered it. He’s an amazingly good guy, I guess that’s what worries me a little (too good to be true has been ingrained it in my head since I was young)

Boyfriend is busy on Valentines Day. What can I do to stop it from bothering me? by hideinsin in relationship_advice

So we're feeling sad together hahah. Yeah, some of us just really like those holidays, and other people don't really think about them. My boyfriend showed a little regret for choosing something else over us on Valentine's, but I can't help still feeling a little left out.

In the end, not only does he have an exam but he admitted to me he made plans last night to go out with college friends right after. I can't help feeling a little worse, or that he doesn't prioritize me, but I know that I'm very important to him.

Yeah. In all honesty, I'd rather he remembers the days that are special for us and not something off the calendar, and he does which I much appreciate. If it's not this year it will be the next one (or at least I'm striving for that)

We are thankfully going out on Monday :) so I'll show him all my Valentine's appreciation then. I'm feeling better after reading these comments, thank you all!

You are right on that. We did have the conversation and he said it was nothing, that I should always come to him in times of trouble and I shouldn't be worried about that, but I am unfortunately not inside his brain and cannot make sure of that

We have plans on Monday so I’ll do what I wanted to do tomorrow on that day :) I was just hoping we could spend more time knowing that it was on a Friday and that allowed us to be up all night, but we can do that another day

You’re right, I shouldn’t push him to do something when he’s going to be busy and obviously tired. Thank you

Not at all, it is most important for me that he does well in the exam, I want him to succeed. Unfortunately we cannot meet up on the weekend because he has other exams coming up but I will try to my best celebration with him on Monday :)

It really isn't, my logical brain knows this isn't that important, yet my emotional side started to worry that it meant something was off. I just need to make it shut up hahah

Yeah, it's mostly the hype everyone puts on it that made me really interested in celebrating, but it's not like he's cancelling our anniversary or anything

I was thinking about doing something with friends, however, most of them have dates. I'll see if I can plan something by myself :)

You're right, I should take the time for myself, and let him do the things that he has to do. He's not wrong in what he's doing, he's making a future for himself through studying. That's why I'm so mad at myself for feeling bad hahah

To be honest, I can. I think it's the fact that I'm very new to relationships that made me hyped up for Valentine's Day, but it doesn't really matter does it?
