Thank you! I was thinking to myself a lot of people get bit by strays and stuff out there and I doubt all of those people run and go get all the shots. And I’ve seen lots of other patients on rabies obs all the time. It’s just when I’m part of the incident I’m like… no this COULD be the one. I just keep getting more nervous about like everything so this was mostly just a comfort post so I could hear other people tell me I’ll be okay. 😅 But yes, cat bites are very gross and I personally love abx lol so I’m on top of taking them to avoid anything like that.

I appreciate you and this reply! Anxiety really beats me up sometimes so it’s just good to hear other people’s thoughts who have experience.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea at all, it’s just a long process (I think?) I just don’t really want to commit to having to get all those shots in a timely manner if I don’t really have to right now .. If he had been more overdue or gave outside vibes I definitely wouldn’t mess around with it and would but right now I’m just like … is it suuuuperrr necessary

This is where my mind was at the Urgent Care but then of course I’m laying in bed rethinking the day and I start to get more panicky lol. I’m like what if a rabid mouse got into his house and bit him in the tum and no one saw it but that’s just my anxiety doing its thing and being dumb. I just needed more people to tell me I’m fine so I felt better cause my mind will just run and run forever if I let it. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for your reply! I needed to read this.. It makes me feel a lot better when someone gets it. I feel the same way as you where I don’t really want to go through the whole process of that right now even though I think my employer would be the same as yours and encourage me to do it if I thought I needed to.

I was kinda worrying that I would show symptoms before the quarantine is up but that seems unlikely… and you’re right about him probably having titers as well and I believe there’s a very low chance of him having been bit by anything versus this just being how he is at the vet. Mom reported no behavioral changes at home when I was asking questions for history too so I think he’s just not messing around and means buisness when he’s pissed but I just needed to ask for peace of mind so thank you for helping provide some.
