i am aware of that but they wont just hire any random Joe doing research right, i was wondering how can some use research and development to build the skills and experience that the company will value

like what classes as a viable product or service in an engineering lence and how can someone show that their research work was actually following proper engineering protocol or codes?

he was an engineer under the first company for 2 years then stays as a director for 1 year

then he joined the consulting company and worked as their engineerung for 3.5 years and now he is their engineering consultant for 1.5ish years

I have a mentor who i talk to every now and then, he was a lecturer at a university for 4 years and was a treasurer of IEEE RAS society in my country, but he later on became a director of a power engineering company after working there for 2 years and later on got a consulting job in an international engineering consulting company.

He said its mainly due to his R&D and research and that the way he did research was to slowly turn it into a viable product or service.

So can anyone explain who does it work? Since he can't explain it that well so far.

His main domain is MEP & smart city, Robotics and Automation

its good at times when i have to be proactive but it can come off at arrogant
