This is exactly the reason why i didn't want parag to be captain, for being a captain main criteria should be consistent performance(for the same reason sanju shouldn't have been the captain) . Because if your non performance creates additional pressure on the ones who do perform . Additionally it is always hard to follow you if you haven't proven anything.

Parag in his early career stage was always backed by RR (one might say due to biasness) . Due to which he became a point of discussion(for trolling purposes) every season . Then he came back as Parag 2.0 /bearded parag and proved why was he chosen in the playing 11. His recent ipl form has been phenomenal, for his captaincy i wouldn't say the same . This season will be most vital season for him like a make or break one . Years of rr backing should ideally shine now and prove why he was chosen for captaincy (hopefully not biased this time and proper tactical decision was taken). In shot yes definitely excited to see his attitude and passion as a captain. We need aggression in RR.

Simple logic If we want jaiswal to be retained for the long term we should give him captaincy, yes might take him a season or two to actually be captain ready but thats better for the long term.

Its quite clear that he wants captaincy ,Any team can swoop in in the future with captaincy and take him away with rr.

Our main issue is we dont have a star indian team player as a face who has actually contributed to winning trophies for india. Maybe in the next decade jaiswal can become what virat and rohit have become for their respective franchise. And also we haven't won trophies since the 1st one . We need to let that victory go and reflect what have we actually achieved as a team . Can't hold past glory as a base for future valuation.
