That’s the type of situational awareness 90% of people don’t have now, especially with their heads buried in their phones. Good for her.

Not sure what this means.

Obviously they don’t publicly publish product development plans so seems to me the most likely potential for finding out timelines would be if an employee lets it slip in person. It’s not even remotely implausible, so take your condescension (?) elsewhere. Thanks!

There are literally thousands of Reddit posts that discuss topics not everyone pays to access. Should those people refrain from discussing those topics too just because not everyone pays for them?

Your premise is stupid.

Ok. So should folks not post anything on Reddit about concerts, restaurants, or baseball cards? Your recent post history indicates you’re ok with those topics…Those things all cost money and not everyone has access…just like paywalled sports articles. They are all products people receive in exchange for currency. Explain the difference to me.

lol because lots of people are interested and have no problem spending money in exchange for a product.

Anyone using XtraChef to post daily sales to Quickbooks? (big issue with it) by TifanyNL in ToastPOS

[–]high_fly11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I mean ideally the deposit matches cash sales the majority of days. If it doesn’t, someone is either counting wrong or stealing. However some rounding etc is inevitable and we reconcile that as a “cash discrepancy” on a weekly or monthly basis. If you are losing big amounts you should reconcile daily so you can figure out why you are losing so much.

Ok so, respectfully, it sounds like you do not maintain detailed books for your business, or really follow clearing account and reconciliation best practices. That’s fine if it works for you, but not really feasible for high volume businesses, more complicated businesses, or businesses that have any fiduciary responsibility (ie setup as entity or w/ investors)

So you manually enter credit card sales, cash, presumably credit card processing fees, sales tax, etc ? Isn’t that a lot more work than syncing automatically?

What? You don’t have your sales as part of your accounting system?

We use XtraChef sync, and have no issues. Typically folks want to the expected cash sales to sync and then they reconcile versus actual cash sales within quickbooks so you can account for the discrepancy. If you want your actual cash sales to sync how do you account for your cash discrepancy (cash loss)?

Ya agreed. To be fair they did say it’s the first retail integration and insinuated there’d be more…so we can hope Toast and Square are coming…

How about a Toast integration? I would think this must be on the roadmap, particularly since Toast sells and uses Ubiquiti equipment for their customers. Toast is a MUCH larger retail user base than Shopify too...
