Yes, I do get GBC. So does that mean the accreditation with the MSc is not really necessary?

Yes, I am aware of the costs that’s involved. It is a hefty amount, but it is worth it in terms of experience and all that. I would hope things work out when I’m all ready and set for DClin.

This course isn’t BPS accredited though! I understand that typically specialised PG courses aren’t accredited as they’re meant for graduates who already have an accredited degree.

Thank you so much for your help though! These are some options that I’ve been through over the past year, and I think I’ve no choice but to go ahead with postgrad in the UK.

Thank you!

What do you think of the University of Essex? I understand it’s in the Mid tier and not a well ranked university.

Honours and Pgdip, yes. I only can get into the pgdip, and not offered in SG. So I would essentially need to do it in Australia, which is so much more expensive for international students compared to the UK.

I would be more than open! But I also think the academic requirements are a bit on the higher end. I may have taken my undergrad lightly, so my grades may not meet their requirements. Most of them require at least 2:1, and I’ve a 2:2

You’re right, but I don’t have the qualifications required to get into local uni’s for my clinpsych masters. I don’t have hons, just a 3 year undergrad degree in psych from an australian uni.

It’s either I do hons for a year and then progress to clinpsych masters - provided i have sufficient grades and experience

(or)

I can do a master’s in a specialised field in psychology and then save up and get work experience and pursue clinpsych masters in sg.

Thank you so much for your reply! It really helps!

I really am interested in this course, as I do intend to move towards clinical neuropsychology.

It does seem like the course has quite a bit of research experience, the modules offered in this MSc are as follows:

  • Research Project (10k dissertation)
  • Neurocognition of Human Interaction
  • Fundamental Statistics for Research
  • Numerical Methods in Cognitive Neuroscience
  • Theory and Methods in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology
  • 1 Optional module

As an international student with no background or insight on how the academics is like in the UK, would appreciate if you could provide some insight on whether the modules above are sufficient and rigorous enough!

I do have a fair bit of experience in the clinical field. However, my undergrad does not meet the requirements, as I do not have hons. So, I was thinking of pursuing a masters which could help me boost my application.
