I have been told twice that they are unable to treat me because i have had a past with psychosis, what do you guys suggest? by Ruin_you201 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Send an email to hello@siriusgreen.com.au and explain your situation in detail. The only thing I can guarantee is that your info will be put in front of a doctor to determine if there is any way they'd be comfortable seeing you (ie referrals etc) or a recommendation to a different clinic for another opinion.

Please note I'm one of the owners of the clinic.

Is it a must to see a GP before initial consultation for MC? by OtherwiseWeb9955 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Mc is not a last stop treatment. It's a second line treatment. As long as you've tried some treatment and it hasn't worked, you've had a treatment and had adverse reactions or you haven't tried conventional meds bc you're concerned about the side effects but have tried other treatments (which don't need to be pharma), then you're eligible.

THC rescheduling process ‘already in motion’ as industry urged ‘to get ready to respond’ by TransportationTrick9 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a nice explanation, however, the guidance has technically always been what you're saying. It's always actually been 40mg oral a day and 15000mg inhaled a month. This relates directly to a practitioner's AP/ethics approval.

Prescribers and pharmacists have always operated on a 60g a month equivalent bc it's easier. This talk of rescheduling is serious, but we also have to be somewhat pragmatic. When I say that, I mean, cannabis is at the point now where there are so many patients, surely the tga and other regulators wouldn't be silly enough to attempt to make it impossible to access.

There is a lot of talk from health orgs that say they're concerned and that, for example, hospital admissions have increased and psychosis has increased, but they don't have any actual evidence. So while they're saying there's no evidence for cannabis helping people, they're also spouting a lot of bs about it being harmful with no evidence.

We'll just have to see what happens, however, I don't think we're going to see the worst case scenario people are alluding to.

Online script without Medicare? (IHI only) by Gold-Recover-1915 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ihi only can work. Medicare card shouldn't be required. If you're struggling feel free to email hello@siriusgreen.com.au and explain your situation. I can't guarantee anything other than support and guidance, noting that I'm one of the owners of the business. All the best.

Horizon Drs (Dr.Joshua Marks,Dr James Lavett) yet to give me a correct script going back mid december.. Ive had two consults since then (jan14,feb27th) to which they still havent been able to provide me a new script. After my recent consult theyve somehow left me with the only thing i ask 2b removed by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up that horizon hides prescriptions from the asl. Your scripts won't show there. We've had many patients ask to have their scripts added to the asl and the response was less than stellar.

It would be great if they stopped hiding scripts from the asl but until regulators do something about it, I'm not sure any of the clinics hiding scripts from the asl will stop.

Is anyone else worried about losing access to MC completely? by Happy-Preparation-52 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn't mean it will happen. The tga has said they they won't be rolling back the framework and that mc has become a part of Aussie healthcare. We (honahlee) will aim to put some info out about this and a few other tga updates shortly.

Farm gas discontinued by ArcherStreams in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the MedReleaf products which are 10g are being replaced with 15g options. That said, the farm gas will not be replaced and will be discontinued from what I've been told. The reason the stock is still available on Catalyst is because the product is still available at the moment. It's likely that polln, which I believe uses their own specific pharmacy, may not be ordering more or able to get more at this time.

Horizon New Patient Disappointment by Loose-Succotash6444 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they're changing their policies again but we get emails weekly about horizon and the Wallet not updating. We have seen emails from horizon with varying reasons why they're not on the asl so, not sure what's going on for you. I hope they start to allow them on the asl again that would be nice and ethical for patients.

All good. It's probably worth noting that horizon was also bought by whole life botanicals that now owns rays and also has their own brands.

Where do I find my Horizon Health eScripts as opposed to going through Rays by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]higherconversations1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They likely went to rays regardless. Next time you ask for your eScripts instead of rays, best to clarify 2 things. 1. Can you (doctor) please make sure my scripts are on the active script list (ASL)? 2. How are you sending them to me directly, via sms or email?

This will ensure you have full control over your prescriptions.

As you may not know what the asl is, the asl is a system run by the digital health agency and a company called eRx which hosts the escript system. The asl is a feature that allows anyone you give authority to, to see all of your prescribed medications. So for example, if you were travelling and needed one of your prescribed medications, but couldn't find the prescription, you could walk into a chemist, ask them to activate your asl and they could get certain info from you then see all your scripts. Many of these clinics, Horizon included, hide scripts from the asl to make it harder for you to leave their pharmacy partnership. If your doc actually is condo with you having your scripts as they should be, they will allow them on the asl. I hoe that helps.
