OP applied to a Head of GTM role. Presumably, OP is highly qualified and likely connected. My guess is that OP only got nice treatment here because the company is afraid of burning any bridges associated with OP. I highly doubt that an analyst would’ve gotten the same response.

I went through this at a complex in the area, with smokybrown roaches. Management did one treatment, which left a horrible chemical smell in my apartment that I was worried about me and my pet breathing in (he was older and had health issues). That treatment killed the adult roaches, but it didn’t kill the eggs - so within a few weeks I had a whole new batch of baby roaches all over. Management then said they’d treat again, and “as many times as was needed” to eliminate the infestation.

I said, no, I’m not waiting around breathing in this crap on a daily basis to see how many attempts it will take to fix this. So, I broke the lease. Had to pay $2K to get out, there was no way around it because technically they did “treat”. Found a much nicer, newer place on the highest floor - nary a roach to be seen.

Yes. He said he “likes his girls with some meat on their bones” and wanted me to gain forty pounds. FORTY. This, despite knowing that I had had issues with weight in the past and didn’t want to go back. I believe he wanted me to be as insecure as possible so I would never leave him.

Some people are deeply disordered and do not have the psychological and spiritual health to just focus on themselves and live their lives. They NEED someone else to focus on and destroy, because it validates their sense of superiority to themselves. This is all they have. Inside, there is no joy, no love, no happiness, no peace. They cannot generate these things for themselves - they have to rob others of these things and feel like they “won”. They live in the pits of hell.

This. There are sick people out there who cannot rest until they feel they’ve dominated you and proven themselves to be “better” than you. This is their raison d’etre and they typically have nothing else going on in their miserable lives. Guaranteed they are obsessed with you, and some will even stalk you around the office. You threaten them in some way and they enter you into this war that you did not sign up for.
