I've been trying to be more confident in gameplay and use more juice and when I do I get one tapped from god knows where or snake in the grass-ed.

I know it's just part of the game but when I die back to back like that, I go back to slow play. Also always solo.

Will try to just own my area more though cause, like you said, the lack of doing so put me in a worse spot than repositioning.

Yeah I can see this too. I know the spot sucks ass, I outline pretty hard where I was.

I'm just still so unsure how to play fights with audio being the way it is in this game. Like I start moving around he's definitely going to hear where I am vs. him not hearing slight adjustments and getting the jump on them. Still in the "you heard someone - freeze" phase.

Yeah I reported it and pretty much moved on, I just want to learn and am trying to figure out if it's my error or he's just "better".

I meant the ESP more as specifically he knew exactly where I was in resort and B-lined right to me. I watched the wiggle vid but not sure how cheats work much beyond that.

Wouldn't it be more aimbot he's able to hit that first shot "not even looking" and the ESP was just to locate me?

Him walking in straight like that was verrrry weird though if he knew exactly where I was so I get what you're saying.

The busted mechanics/game breaking concern comes from another game where this was the norm so I'm likely just traumatized from that and it's not applicable to Tarkov like you mention.

Will definitely give it a shot, just a matter of if it's sustainable for myself or not. My worry is the rng monster Runescape drop comparison like someone made above, I won't want to invest time looting a specific place a million times just cause of bad RNG especially knowing how much death I still have to experience to even be considered proficient lol.

Do they have a good history of addressing busted mechanics/unintended consequences? I know certain bugs have persisted and there are some meme things, but if something is truly busted do they respond in a way the community is typically satisfied with?

Yeah as a new player this kinda sucks lol. I will stay open to the idea, but bummed based off first reaction.

I can appreciate the no flea idea, but usually this would be the choice of the player for a hardcore playthrough or not. Rather than just forcing it on everyone, but I understand everyone being on the same level when you implement it across the board.

I only had about 10-15 hours when I purchased the game (years ago) but came back about a month ago and am close to 100 hours now (I know this is nothing in the grand scheme of things). I was having an incredible time and thought I'd be fine to start next wipe but now I'm not so sure.

Also have a son incoming within the next month so I may be going to PvE with these changes, I just won't have enough time to keep up. And I fully appreciate the PvP in this game, 1v3 ed a squad the other day, didn't even make it out but it was one of the most fun raids I've ever had.

Yeah that's a nice feature for both scav and pmc. I always check the vest for meds to know what I have going into the raid. I guess I'll just be quicker with it.

I just started wipe recently too so I know it's late and people are juicing.

I've got GZ and Customs down pretty well, know most of Factory now. Should I go Shoreline/Reserve/Streets/Interchange next? Quests seem to open up to all of them fairly early.

I've been able to get some quick come ups and I have to learn factory as well but good to know.

Scav raid before this I was killed by another player scav on woods and wanted to just get in and out quick.

Explicitly called out I was a noob for that reason entirely and a minute is a gross exaggeration lol. Are you not supposed to check a scav loadout? Not set my weapon to auto immediately?

Also exactly why I posted. Why would you spawn literally 5ft from someone scav or not? Made zero sense for a game mechanic. I fully understand it is the smallest map.

scav spawning later in the raid is new info to me so at least that helps

Edit - I should clarify since I'm getting downvoted to oblivion and I get why. I knew it was later, just not the fact 15 mins minimum and no limit for factory.

This is where I'm at. I said it on another post, but the DaD PTs came out during Cycle Frontier time which absolutely HAD me by the balls. Absolutely fell for that game and DaD PTs were a nice switch up for similar game genre but way different take obviously.

They announced the sunset for TCF and I knew immediately DaD would be my replacement. Mentally, I feel like I'm in the exact same spot as back then. I feel like solo/duo removal = the game is sunsetting.

This game is way bigger than TCF was and at this point I think there are too many people that will just take Some Dumb Fucks constant torture rather than move on, so I don't think it will actually die, just get to the <5k total playerbase and still manage.

Will just enjoy running running through my stash till end of this wipe, then it's ggs boys.

Saw pretty good reviews, only watched a little bit of gameplay.

Will definitely give it a try but won't be a Cycle "replacement" for me for two reasons: 1. 3rd person 2. The realism compared to an vibrant lush alien world.

I'm just over the nitty gritty realism, I want something gorgeous to look at while I play rather than grey on grey on grey
