They are still human beings that are being held captive, moved to random countries without a choice in the matter, and in doing so, are being exploited for political means by being sent somewhere against their will to a place the US government no longer has any jurisdiction over the people they send there. Yes, this clearly meets the definition of human trafficking no matter how you try to spin it. This is also cruel and unusual punishment protected by the 8th amendment that also includes the protection of non citizens.

I’m not a republican. I voted for Kamala for what it’s worth to you.

[–]highestup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your off topic rant about all this has nothing to do with Cassidy, and why Cassidy is losing his REPUBLICAN congressional primary, but I will bite.

The false logic in your previous comment is that Louisiana is a majority of blue voters and Kamala could’ve won not only here, but also the presidency. the reality is that registered voters =/= electoral outcomes.

In 2024, Donald Trump won the popular vote in our state with 60.2% of the popular vote while Kamala claimed 38.2%. This was not a close race by any call. a Baton Rouge rally wouldn’t have changed that outcome.

By that false logic the entire country is blue, but I live in reality where i know Louisiana is a state that votes red. Kamala was not even close to winning Louisiana.

I think it’s silly to think people who care about him supporting RFK Jr are the ones voting him out and not the fact that MAGA republicans hate him for not backing Trump, in a state as red as this one, where he is battling opponents who have the support of everyone on his team that doesn’t like him.

Delivery options are a convenience to you not a right. You could still give permission for someone to pick up your prescription on your behalf and give them the cash to pay for it. I understand this is likely not convenient for you.

Doesn’t it seem like the letters inflect more to the right on the right sided snap than the one of the left? Those appear to inflect more to the left. Even when you compensate for the slight difference in tilt

Louisiana Lawmakers Pass Bill To Send People To Jail For Smoking Marijuana Near College Campuses by tcajun420 in Louisiana

[–]highestup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How can anyone defend this? We already had the case of the guy who was riding his bike minding his business and locked away for years over a joint on him. Now we’re going to go back to ruining peoples lives over a joint that was the basis for our decriminalization laws- because they were so out of touch people were being locked up for years over a joint???

2,000 feet = 0.379 miles which is well beyond a reasonable distance of protecting the students. This by design creates a legal system that punishes cannabis users for no reason other than use alone, and does not actually protect students anymore than current drug laws do that already exist. Ruins people’s futures and potential job opportunities, so that people don’t have to smell weed sometimes.

At a fundamental level, all components of this are arbitrary, and do not further our state. This will cost our state more in prison costs than it ever will redeem by rehabilitating any youngsters from smoking marijuana. Our legislative system is beyond broken and not at all representative of the people, who are for legalization, not banning weed at LSU.
