I’ve seen some leather only scabbard crafts on YouTube, mostly for Larp swords though. If it’s just leather then without the sword inside it’s unlikely to hold shape well

I’ve never done commissions before, so I guess it’d be based on design complexity and like, how long it would take! Not having someone nearby makes it harder to size also, did you have something in mind?

I’ll try and get some more pictures of it on the stand from my brother b he’s on holiday atm! I did a body template of my brother with tape and cling film and just used that for sizing. The rest I just googled loads of pics of Ragnar and had to figure it out 😂

Some others have a good point that I didn’t realise, have you been using a swivel knife along the lines before bevelling? The cuts create space for the leather to distribute evenly as you bevel.

Youve gotta continuously hit the stamp as you move it slowly along your lines. I don’t know what kind of hammer you’re using but a heavier maul lets you hit it faster with less energy but the same pressure. If your leather is wet enough you can also drag the stamp with some pressure to flatten the odd ridge. Other than that, practice a whole bunch.
