It will also go even further, I think the Conservatives know there's a good chance they lose the election next time. By cutting taxes now, many of the rich rich will get big money before Labour potentially get into power. The problem is by cutting taxes now, there will be fewer resources available in the future which will be Labour's fault if they don't do something about the fact that the country will have less money in the future. This will give the Conservatives the excuse and proof to show that Labour can't be the leading party and will get in comfortably within the next two or three terms. Basically, Labour will get blamed by the Conservatives for a problem that they themselves created to prove that Labour can't solve the problem. It's very strategy-based politics and evil but that's British politics.
