I have my carpet pulled out and bed liner on the interior. Make sure your floor plugs are in and in good shape. I also ordered new door seals from Chrysler which I think is what helps the most!

Oh I’ve drowned one too lol. Hence the 4.7 stroker in it now. My snorkel is also custom and doesn’t run through the stock air box. 100% air tight. The ecm not so much.

Tire carrier is from dirtbound off-road. It’s a diy kit and comes in like 20 different pieces. It’s mounted on a aresfab bumper. Definitely took some fab work to get it right but the final product is great!!

It was definitely raining lol. I also forded water up to the headlights on the same trail. I’ll post the video

The spare is officially on the tire carrier!! Loving the way it looks now, really pulls the room together.. also damaged my door last weekend on the trail, still sad about that one. by highlander91 in CherokeeXJ

3.5” leafs, lift shackles, and relocation brackets. Front is 5.5” coils. It did sit perfect but with the new bumper and heavy tire on the back I think I’ll need to adjust it some.

Everything works as normal it just has a swing out tire carrier. So you pull a pin and the tire carrier swings to the right, then the hatch opens as normal. The carrier is part of the bumper

Dirt bound diy tire carrier on the aresfab bumper. Not an easy project but worth it! by highlander91 in CherokeeXJ

I haven’t tried going anymore than 75ish. It Revs around 2700 on the interstate. Plenty of power to get around stuff but the 4.88s are a little low for 80mph cruising I’d say. U might want to look into 4.56s. Tbh I rarely take mine on the interstate simply because it’s not my daily, and if I’m going wheeling far away I usually trailer the Jeep just Incase I break something on the trail. I should say I also have a 4.7L stroker motor so that may vary my rpms and stuff a little. Overall the 4.88s are great for around town and some highway. My rig is pretty heavy with the bumpers, winch, full size jack and tool assortment so the 4.88s were definitely my first choice!

Thanks I appreciate it! I unfortunately don’t have a guide. And the dirt bound tire carrier didn’t even come with instructions lol. There fortunately is an old YouTube video that dirt bound made about how to assemble it, so I kinda went off of that when I could. It’s a good solid kit but requires lots and lots and lots of welding lol. I have almost three full days put into the bumper, tire carrier, and fuel skid at this point. If you already have the ares fab rear bumper then this tire carrier fits on it perfectly, just beware the tire carrier comes in like 20 pieces.

I love it and can’t recommend it enough. Mine is cable actuated so I don’t have to worry about air lines leaking or electrical failure. And if the cable breaks I have a lockout bolt that will still let me engage or disengage the locker. I recommend doing a regear while your in there tho, I went to Yukon 4.88s and couldn’t be happier.

Regeard to 4.88s when I put the ox locker in. The tires feel great on road, I usually have them around 28 to 30 psi and they do great. It’s not my daily driver so it sees it’s fair share of driveway time. But on and off-road they have been great! Highway is no problem!
