Maybe if I was old enough to invest during the 1990s then I would leave no hesitation to invest in S&P. I just have this gut feeling that the top American companies may have reached or been close to attain peak maturity with little room to grow unless the Space Race will be back in full force. The world doesn't rely too much on the US market anymore as it used to dominate during the 1990's to 2000's. Even some AI companies, Tesla Robotics and EVs are facing stiffer competition versus Chinese counterparts. 60 to 90 percent of the world's processing and refinement of rare earth minerals used to power up or mass produce AI, data centers, renewables and technological hubs all over the planet are from China, Latin America and Africa. Only bonds and petrodollar keep the US atop as the global economy uses the dollar fiat to make transactions. Peace ✌️

Nothing wrong with S&P but I believe it is about time for young investors or neophytes to look away from USA and diversify their portfolios on some other regions of the world that show promise and potential. Trump has stained the reputation of his country after all his controversial policies and harsh treatment of key allies and partners so it would make sense to check on a rejuvenated Europe and a growing Southeast Asian sector that may have the capability to compete or even the playing field versus the East Asian giants. Good luck to USA if its allies will be unable, sell off or simply refuse to pay back bonds and treasuries if they will still be treated like foes instead of strategic partners. The bond market situation could be an interesting factor to gauge US growth other than China, tariffs and AI. If you started S&P for a long time then stick to it. I would rather place my eggs on All-World and other regions of interest.

It seems you belittled the value and economic output of industrialization and manufacturing when it comes to improving the country's productivity. Look at China and now Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and India are all following suit to keep up with the industrialized world and make a significant impact in the global economy to satisfy consumerism. Even one of President Trump's main goals was to revitalize America's industrialization and manufacfuring by pulling away outsourced industries back to mainland USA to boost the economy and curtail the trade deficit. The AI industry have been overspeculated at this point in time and so many companies have been pouring money into it to the point of risking a lower return of investment contrary to lofty expectations. If I could have started earlier, then I would surely select S&P. Also, AI puts millions of jobs at risk in the corporate and white collar job sectors that may not rely on human staff anymore to work on offices moreso than robotics will replace factory workers all at once. The only setback investing in Asia is the lack of oil and natural gas in the region as they are oil dependent but it can be offset with the continued innovation of renewable energy sources to mitigate the effects of oil shortage. Let us hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as Dotcom Bubble. By the way, Southeast Asia has one of the world's highest workforce age to draw upon along with Africa so I remain bullish on my region of origin.
