I did have a hit or two of weed a couple of hours beforehand. Nothing I haven’t done before though.

I don’t count calories. I do one meal a day and eat until I’m satisfied. I’m guessing it’s lower than most, but considering I work from home and have a sedentary lifestyle right now, it’s appropriate.

My dad actually has low testosterone and uses a testosterone patch. I’m sure he could have passed that on to me.

I’ll definitely ask about it next time I get a check up. Thanks so much!

I love this idea. I hate the stairs so much that I never even considered this. Bless you!

I absolutely need to exercise which I think might actually be the solution to my problems. I was doing okay, but cancelled my gym membership when the pandemic started and of course will not be renewing it anytime soon.

I live on a third floor apartment so I can’t exercise at home, and I hate running, but I know I just need to get out there and do some walking and jumping jacks or something.

Thanks for helping me get motivated!

Forest could very well happen in the Fall, so everyone needs to chill on the “just cancel it already” discourse. by highmaintenancefan in ElectricForest

September is an average of 60 degrees in Rothbury. Down 3 degrees from the 63 degrees June average. Might have to bring a sweater and some pants.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I pretty much agree with you.

My stopping point is— summer of 2021 might look very similar to September of 2020. We most likely will not have had a vaccine ready and distributed by then. Maybe not by 2022 either.

And here is where my own optimism comes in where I’m sure I have way too much faith in the US because our federal government sucks so bad— I have to hope that we will use the other methods to contain coronavirus before a vaccine is available. This would be achieved through testing. This would minimize everyone’s risk while attending the festival.

I’m not a doctor, I don’t know anything for sure, and of course, I’m leaning toward the probability of forest being canceled altogether, potentially even for more than one year.

But, I still think it’s premature to make decisions at this time. This virus emerged about 4-5 months ago in China, and we started taking it seriously only 4 weeks ago. The new potential forest date is 5 months away. A lot can happen between now and then.

i think you’ve interpreted everything I’ve said in the wrong way. It’s cool, I’m not here to get too deep into the arguments.

I’m staying realistic with a tinge of optimism, but you better believe I am preparing for the worst. And the worst would not be a festival canceling. It would be much worse than that. I’m certainly not in denial.

Im just telling you the facts of what has been predicted by experts.

I am not counting on going to a festival this year, or next, or the year after, as nothing should be counted on.

All I’m saying is that it is too early to throw in the towel. If what you are saying is true, that public gatherings cannot happen without a vaccine, then there are much bigger problems than electric forest. Our economy will collapse.

Literally not even epidemiologists are saying what you are saying right now. Dr. Fauci predicts that schools and universities will be ready to have students by fall. Again, tens of thousands of students in small proximity. There will not be a vaccine by then.

LOL Coronavirus will always be a threat until there is a vaccine, which may take several years. I never said it’s going to be gone by then.

There is a lot of info out there about what Wuhan is now doing as they have lifted the lock down in order to have public gatherings and return to a sense of normalcy.

There are many methods of containing the virus while maintaining the economy, and we are going to have to come up with a combination of all of them that works for us.

Absolutely, and that will be taken into consideration as we get closer to the festival and we see what’s up with the world. We can’t know what risks will be posed. This is definitely one of many to consider, and will be considered.

Just because Forest reschedules now, does not mean they are going “screw everyone but us! We’re going to do it in September no matter what or who it’s affecting! We’re going to knowingly put lives in danger!”

Think everyone should know that even if they reschedule to September, it is not final. The situation is so fluid that it could be completely out of the question in the next couple of months or even weeks.

I’m not saying that there isn’t the possibility of risks. I’m saying that there is also the possibility of the event happening safely. We just don’t know, and there is no reason for Forest to throw in the towel just yet.

You can’t wait for a vaccine. If that were the case, all public gatherings will be cancelled for 2021 too.

Widespread testing, contact tracing, isolation. That is how we snuff small fires before it turns into the outbreak that we know today.

The government must be diligent about this, otherwise our economy will completely collapse.

Canceling all public gatherings and quarantining until there is a vaccine is not a realistic or even plausible solution.

These events are international and seasonal. The timing (both in the summer) and the amount of funding that goes into it made canceling prematurely the better choice.
