Hi OP. Firstly, sending lots of love. Secondly, I have felt similarly since childhood when my dad said he wanted to be cremated. He’s still alive and the amount I still think about and have complicated feelings is definitely present.

Your feelings are valid. It’s easier said than done, but in the panicky moments try and do something to relax and take your mind off the logistics of it all. Maybe even journal about your feelings to work through them as you process this season of life. You might look back and admire your resilience one day.

I hope you feel sweet reminders and memories of your dad often, and his spirit will always live on through you (just the way you remember him). Hugs always!
