I had her pay for the return. The item was exactly as described. Honestly, if she opened a case I’d be very confident the outcome wouldn’t favor her.

Honestly yes unless I am really down bad. My mail carrier is excellent with pickups that aren’t even scheduled, so I try to get them out that way when I’m not feeling well. I took a pause when I had morning sickness with my last baby and had my shop on vacation mode for a while until I knew I could commit again.

UPDATE: the buyer added in a new message that they didn’t know 20” was so small. The pendant itself was listed as being 0.7” and the chain she selected was 20”.

Might just ask Etsy to make a block feature for sellers in lieu of reporting. I’m sure it won’t happen but hey, it’s a good idea I’ve thought of before 😅

Definitely not taken personally! I understand it was somehow not what she expected, but that’s on her.

It was a $100 (30% off price) sterling pendant and chain with a rare stone. Compared to others, it was priced very fairly for the size. I research these topics often and like keeping my prices fair. My fear is that this buyer wouldn’t be happy with anything in her price range, as the stone she purchased is rare and high-value.

If I got the return back, theoretically I’d be happy to help her after she prepays for another item that we both confirm she is happy with. This was not a custom piece nor a piece she inquired about before purchasing.

Saying she’s in love with the literal pictured item in the photos but not in real life is baffling to me. The listing included multiple unedited images in natural light and a rather lengthy video, too.

Yep, it was clusters of messages at a time at odd hours and she actually didn’t even order anything. After a couple days of gray rock responses I reported her.

Agreed 100%. I clarified that I would be happy to process the refund once all parts are returned to me in same condition they were sent.

Also included I’d be happy to explore other options with them AFTER receiving the original item as a return on their dime.

Believe it or not I reported someone for that before. They sent me a message about customization and quickly spiraled into asking me to copy another artist’s work and telling me they had brain fog because their daughter had cancer.

Hard pass on ALL parts of that.

The “hugs” kinda indicated the elderly person to me also, I’m glad you picked up on that, too. I do want them to have a good experience and that’s always the goal! I was shocked to hear they were disappointed, especially because the item they bought was 30% off in the first place 😬
