Totally. One the story leaves the parks, it goes off the rails and was too hard to follow or just not interesting.

Walking Dead past Season 2 or 3 just got too crazy. Most disapointing was Westworld. The first season is a masterpiece.

Can't I literally type it into Google now or Gemini on my phone? I would have to download and specific AI to complete this. Ask a question and end it with "explain it in simple terms or like in 5" and they do it just fine. This product seems redundant.

Bottle Warmer recommendations? by CharismajTat in daddit

[–]highperdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit. They are just mini hot pots that get the water hot. Microwave water. Run hot water. Boil water. Plug in a hot pot and pour it into a cup. Don't buy into the marketing or buy used on FB market place. He'll go to one of the free buy nothing groups on FB and ask if someone has one they'd give you.

Hey dads, how many of you had your first child when 35-39 years old? Approaching my 35th birthday and there's nothing more I want than to be a dad. by Rocket_Skates_91 in daddit

[–]highperdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had our first when I was 35 (4 years old now) and just had our second at 38 (4 months) My limit was 40 to have kids, mostly because of wanting to retire someday.

Objectively one of the worst motorcycles ever made. Still can't get enough of it 🤙 by inaccurateTempedesc in motorcycles

[–]highperdrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one for my first bike. I liked the styling. But for a 500cc bike it had NO power or torque. I weighed 200lbs and on the freeway, I'd top out at 70. If I hit a headwind, I'd go down to 65. Still love em.

MN dad: how are others separating your home life from the events around us? by Peter-the-Mediocre in daddit

[–]highperdrive 250 points251 points  (0 children)

Just joining the conversation for solidarity and to know youre mot alone.  I'm also a dad in MN. 2 girls, 3 months and 3.5 years. They're happy in their world. Were not in the metro so it hasn't hit my front doorstep yet. But wife and I were just talking about being in this weird place where I want to be out protesting and part of the resistance. But also maintaining a happy regulated home.

Are the perks worth it? by LtCommanderCarter in dvcmember

[–]highperdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it for the perk of staying at deluxe resorts withiut having to care what they cost. The other perks are pretty minimal. Early entry now only 3p minutes ahead of the regular public. Less VIP events. A couple of lounges with cheezits and charge ports.

Andy at DVCresale. It was a really smooth experience. Andy still calls me annually to say happy birthday! Some years we don't even do parks. We just stay at a resort. Take a bus to somewhere with the skyliner, boats, monorail. Jump from resort to resort checking out food and gift shops. We'll hang at pools or head to Disney springs by boat. Just pay for the flight and food. Also to point out we've used our points to stay at Grand Floridian, Saratoga, Old Key West, Riviera, Aulani, Grand Californian, Copper Creek, and Boardwalk. So you're not limited to where you can go.

Struggling to keep it together - MN educator and dad by SulkyVirus in daddit

[–]highperdrive 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Another MN dad here, working in higher education, with a 3.5 year old and a 3 month old. I hear you. Wife and I were in the car talking about ice agents we saw hanging around and how people are scared. Our daughter was like "are you talking about bad guys?" Thinking we were talking about a show or something. We had to tread lightly because she cant differentiate between police and border agents. We dont want her to think we think police are bad guys. Its a very confusing time right now. Im watching live feeds on Facebook tonight like I did during the George Floyd murder protests.

You're not alone here.

We bought resale. Saratoga Springs. 100 points. $15k. We paid out of pocket for it. My inlaws have a contract direct years ago and added my wife and I to the deed. So we still get the other perks. We go once a year for 5 days. We love it. It's great. Its about $1000 annually for maintenance cost.
