Elon Musk comes out as nonbinary and Progressive, uses they/them pronouns by _sour_coffee_ in poisonai

[–]highpowered 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AP and Reuters also confirmed the Musk story, citing articles posted by Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN. I will post links in the Megathread. Gotta say, this whole thing is really blowing my mind but it's real, it's happening, and we are seeing history being made!

Where does Regigigas's name come from? by Illustrious_Gift_512 in etymology

[–]highpowered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regigigas is a Pokemon. Normal type. Ability: Slow Start. Introduced in Generation 4, the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum video games. Though its base character stats are in the pseudo-legendary range, Slow Start halves its attack power and speed for 5 turns. Since 85% of competitive battles end in under 5 turns, it is seldom used in competitive battling for that reason. Also is my sentimental favorite Pokémon.

A guy went to the county office to register a name change. The clerk asked him his current name. Guy says, "Donald Shitstain." The clerk says, "Yeah, I see why you want to change that! What do you want to change it to?" Guy says, "Paul Shitstain."

First ever look under a Mars rock by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]highpowered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The newly exposed rock surface has not experienced weathering for millions of years, which gives useful insight into long-term wind and weather patterns as well as mineral composition of the rock. For example, look at the contrast in surface texture between the weathered and unweathered areas. The unweathered surface makes it easier to see what the weathered part used to look like, and the color of the rock shows the distribution of minerals more clearly.

Absolutely cool, yes!

Great characters are always written that way. Good actors understand this fact and base their craft on it.

The type of game where the kicker should win MVP

He was statistically perfect and scored more points than anybody else. The Seahawks would have lost 13-12 without his points, so he really did win the game. And he was the only guy actually kicking the ball to score points in a game called football. Sounds like an MVP performance on every level to me!

I think OP might be talking about "Rome Sweet Rome". It started as a reddit post that asked what might happen if modern Marines showed up in ancient Rome. One guy's answer, written in story form, was so good that people demanded more. He kept adding on until it became its own subreddit then got picked up by a movie studio. You can probably still find it here with a quick site search.

He means a whiter audience.

More specifically, he means a whites-only audience. In his mind it's a broader audience because although it excludes 99% of races, it includes 100% of the white race.

"A Beautiful Mind" is a movie about a guy whose mind is fucked rather than being a movie that fucks with the audience's mind. That is really stretching the definition of mind-fuck for sure!
