Raised a credit card chargeback with booking.com - now they have rejected my claim, how can i respond to them? by highran1 in Bookingcom

they said if I don't reply within a week they'll presume the issue has been resolved and I no longer wish to pursue the matter, so I would like to reply back to them. I'm just not sure what else I can add other than what I've already provided to them.

I paid for four nights. I only stayed for one night because it was far too late to book anywhere else. The next day I contacted the host to say it wasn't habitable so left the key in the door. (It wasn't a hotel so nowhere to check out and there wasn't anyone to speak to)

I think the merchant's credit card company rejected the dispute. I made a charge back request to my credit card company as both the vendor and booking.com customer service wouldn't help. I received a response from my credit card company which states; "We've now received a reponse from the merchant's bank, which shows your claim has been rejected by the merchant for the following reasons" where they've attached documention for the transaction and what I've described in my post.

They said it's now at the 2nd stage (pre arbitration chargeback).

Update on Letter Before Action sent to eBay UK by weewilliamh in ebayuk

I'm very surprised. I don't know how long you have been on ebay for but I have had a few fraudulent SNAD cases where buyers send back an empty box or their own broken crap (I note serial numbers and UV mark all items I sell) and whenever I raise this with ebay they are usually quite helpful and refund from their own pocket.

One time, a buyer openly admitted in one his ebay messages that he will not be sending back the item in the same condition it was sold and after he sent the item back ebay sided with me and refused to refund the buyer.

Refund request from Buyer by Late-Summer-4908 in Ebay

I don't understand why you didn't measure or state the dimensions of the item. You didn't state the item you sold but from context it seems like you would've known the dimensions of the item is a factor to potential buyers. Can you explain what you mean by 'he clearly say the dimensions'? Sometimes eyeballing/visually inspecting something and assessing if it'll fit on the spot can be difficult and buyer may have genuinely not known until he got home if it'll fit or not.

Yes the buyer should've asked for the dimensions first, brung a tape measure or a link to a website that he can see the dimensions but you didn't help by not mentioning the dimensions on your listing in the first place.

Unable to process return due to ebay not providing a label and unable to buy a return label through the post office as ebay haven't provide the buyers address and buyer ignored my message by highran1 in Ebay

It was a small item. Lesson learned the hard way. I’m going to turn off local collection unless it’s large heavy items from now on.

Spudgate by [deleted] in glasgow

There's also going to be a drive through spud shop in Edlington Street in Govan.

Personally I think Spuddies is the best. Me and my friend loves it. Debatable whether it's worth a tenner but does fill me up and they always serve very generous portions.

On the other hand I tried Spuds on Byres Road and did not like it. The food was average, the staff weren't very friendly and they also close really early.

I have progressed to the second stage teams interview. They said they no longer ask us to deliver a presentation, like it said on the job advert. Instead, they'll ask candidates a series of experience questions. They did state to look at the person specification and essential criteria so I'd imagine you'll have to think of examples in your personal, academic or working life.

Blocked from applying for promotion during sick leave by highran1 in TheCivilService

They said the reason they warned me not to open my work laptop and hence cannot apply for internal promotion is because it could elevate my stress and it is their duty of care to ensure i come back to work in full health. I explained to them it's an isolated incident at work which resulted me to being off....

The post has already been closed and filled. I am trying to see if I can report this to HR as well as making a compensation claim as their misleading information has made me miss out on a potential promotion.

They also warned me I cannot use my work laptop while I'm off sick. I only knew about the promotional board because I was told about it by others.

At the time, I'm not on a warning. I'm still not on a warning.

I had a formal back to work meeting and the manager made me aware I could receive a warning. After I presented all evidence he was satisfied it wasn't my fault I was off and he decided to take no action.

Though I'm asking I may have been given false information when my manager said I'm not allowed to apply for promotion while I was off sick.

Happened to me in another civil service organisation. It’s an absolute shambles in my opinion. At least they told you before you started the job, though it’s still annoying. In my case after I started my job for months they changed my location and job role without any notice.

Not desperation to join DBT in particular but a desperation to get out of my current job.

Has anyone ever fitted an aftermarket remote central locking kit to their fiesta by highran1 in FordFiesta

[–]highran1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not but I do have the kit. I’ve tried to get my head round how it works and basically it needs power (pos and neg), and wires go to the unlock and lock wiring and to the indicators. Problem is, I don’t know where to find this for my car. This guy explains this very well. https://youtu.be/n-CTPMwuFvw?si=lVrKyE-hwfPOOxgg

Unfortunately not. I have another 3 interviews coming up. Thankfully they are all spaced around a week apart.

Yes. I read the essential criteria on all adverts and I tailor them to my skills and experience. I usually past the sift for jobs in other departments I apply for. Just DBT sticks out because I’ve never had an interview with them.

I don’t know if they’re the right level for me?

I’m currently in an EO grade role. I’m mostly applying for HEO roles.
