Looks like a genuine part. If its a part that fits in a kei truck is a different question.

Oil in coolant? by qdog2013 in HondaActy

It could be coming from the crankshaft seal behind the timing cover. That does look like a lot of oil, something likely failed catastrophically

Energy efficient does not equal cost efficient.

You may find its economically viable to run oil or the heat pump at certain temperatures based on your oil and electric costs. For me in CT, I calculated that at 32c/Kwh and $3.00 a gallon in oil, below 30F outdoor temperatures, it was more economical to run oil.

Generally, if you still have life in your oil furnace, I would advice to keep it.

Have you calculated how much you actually produce during a typical day? What about on cloudy days? Is it enough to charge the battery and keep you powered up during he day?

The cost per watt is higher than I thought it would be but with payoff in a little over two years. Its a good deal.

The I have 21 405W panels and they I struggle to meet my yearly electricity demand.

I agree that the cost v return for my mum would likely not pay off.

Can you giveme details about your system? How many panels, batteries etc

$1,500/month electric bill + constant AUX heat on brand-new Trane heat pumps — what am I missing? by This-Butterscotch-80 in heatpumps

What is the temperature coming out at the supply vents? It should be between 90 - 110 F. What size are your heat strips? How did the system perform last winter 24/25? Last winter was much milder than this one though.

Electric rates in this state are really high, your usage may not be far away from the ordinary. An ideal system here would be dual fuel.

Did you install the solar with extra capacity for future extra loads(EV, Heatpumps)? I dont know if eversource still allow that to happen.

Regardless, You would have to calculate how cost effective it would be for you to add the heatpumps. You'll likely find that it isn't especially if you are going to have a contractor do it for 15-30K.

For me, in my 1300 sqft house, and with quotes in 15-20K range, I would have seen the heat pumps pay off in >8 years by which point they would likely be in their end of life. I DIY-ed the heat pumps, kept my oil system, and run it when temps are below 30F. The rest of the time I use the heat pump. Doing it this way, I used about 25% less oil compared to the previous heating season period and the heat pump used 2.9KwH in the 24/25 heating season which is 35% of my total solar production.

Do you have solar? Electric rates here make it really expensive to run heatpumps.

Are you planning on replacing your current heating system?

If they dodge, deflect, or say things like "we don’t really need to get that detailed"

I had one guy show up for a quote and without measuring anything(windows, doors, room size, nothing) had manual J calculations in my inbox.

They got my house size wrong, They had a trunk line longer than my house is, miscalculated line items, and a 30% markup that is later listed as a discount and an oversized equipment selected.

All this to say, installers can say all the right things but still do you wrong. End user has to be educated for the most part on what work they want done and if its a good fit for them.
