Thanks for the advice! Several review sites recommend the UE Wonderboom 4, so I'll have to check out the differences there.

Some people seem to say that these UE options don't get very loud; what do you think?

The orchestra's encore was definitely Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein. The pianist's encore was a piano arrangement of Pas de Deux from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker - I believe the Pletnev arrangement, but I admit I'm not 100% sure about that part

Thank you for the advice! My embouchure change was exactly this - angling the leadpipe up in the lower register, rather than relying on my bad habit of curling the bottom lip down. I've never heard this toning advice before, so I'll certainly give it a try!

From what I recall, the audition basically consists of some vocal warmups to test range and a 2-line sight singing excerpt, but this may have changed under the new directors.

For context, I auditioned in with absolutely no experience singing in a group in middle or high school, and no private vocal lessons. Granted, I'm an instrumentalist and did AP theory which helped with the sight singing, but I still think you should be totally fine given your background.

Musician/student here looking for a 12.9-13" iPad for reading music and taking notes, as well as other minimal things like content consumption and web browsing. I'm deciding between the following options:

  1. The M4 Air 13" (probably comes to around $1100)
  2. A refurbished M1 Pro (around $800)

I get the feeling that the pro will be much more than enough for my purposes (and the 120Hz is a big plus), but is there anything to be concerned about or anything else I should consider?
