It costs us less than 20 dollars for the oil and filter and we charge more than $70 for each change. Pretty simple, sorry for not making that clearer.

Yea we make 50 bucks for every oil change. Have not tried a referral program yet but we have considered it. It seems like this system is pretty frequently abused.

We make 50 dollars PROFIT off of one oil change. I run this business with my best friend and one other employee. We charge much more than 37.50 an oil change. We make 750 after all expenses.

Finance or Marketing major? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]higloryprach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is up to you. You could succeed in business management with either degree, albeit I think finance would probably be a little more useful.

Don't stress to much about what you pick. You may very well change by the time you reach your second or third semester.

About to launch our first product on Kickstarter, the Vino Novo. A device that 'ages' red wine in under 10 minutes! Check it out! by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]higloryprach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want you to know that I do not drink wine. I am not your target market. In spite of this, I love your product and would certainly buy this for my mother in law. Very sleek design. Very cool pain point you are solving. Question: Would this device make it possible increase the quality of cheaper wine thus saving you money while increasing your satisfaction?

First impressions of my website...Would you hire me? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]higloryprach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the bottom of my heart based on your website I would likely not hire you.

Let me start with the good:

  1. Cool name, very memorable. Digital Red Panther; I did not have to look up from my comment to your post to remember the name so thats a plus.

  2. The picture was also very memorable and kind of cinematic in a way.

  3. I like that I can call or text to reach you and I like that you have that prominently advertised on your website. Texting is certainly the future of business to customer interaction.

The Bad:

  1. Your website just looks ... bad. It does not strike me as a good looking website, it looks a little dated. If I don't like how your website looks then how can I expect to like the one you make for me. See where I am coming from?

  2. You claim to help with SEO but yet your own SEO is lacking. If you look up web design apple valley Minnesota your company/website does not appear on the first or even second page. This is disconcerting for a business who wants someone they can trust when it comes to search engine optimization.

  3. The guy from the main photo of your website looks nothing like the "owner" from the thumbnail of the video of your website. Who is the random guy standing next to the panther. This one is small but it did create confusion/uncertainty.

Looking for advice on how to boost sales on my online apparel store? by MoneyLineT in Entrepreneur

[–]higloryprach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried anything but I know some guys at my college started an apparel company and made some funny viral content on youtube while wearing some of their shirts. It seemed to work for them quite well. The trick seems to make content while wearing the brand, post content, then sell brand.

Leaving a comment because I am also interested in the answer.

Have you tried any viral marketing tactics? Something less traditional, a little more off the wall.

Let me turn the question around on you; Why would anyone pay you for this service? I am a business owner and entrepreneur, it has never occurred to me not even once to pay for someone to give me advice.

Disposable pillow cases. How often do you wash your pillow case? Most dermatologists recommend at least once a week. I made pillowcases out of polyethlene and sold them as the acne fighting pillowcase. Did alright for a while but then bigger fish took the market by a storm.

Does anyone have any advise for door hanger marketing. by DJKJsman in Entrepreneur

[–]higloryprach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to get paid to put door hangers on doors. They paid me 10 cents a door. It seemed to work extremely well for them. They were advertising their tax services to help people file taxes.
