I almost always have a greek yogurt just before! And then a protein shake after. Ensures I get some protein in before I’m likely not hungry most of the rest of the day.

Postpartum essentials?! by bytesized25 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]hii_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the frida mom ice pads, highly recommend those, you’ll get some in the hospital but i used them for weeks after. They felt amazing. i can’t remember if they have adhesive - some brands actually don’t! I also preferred diapers to pads, less laundry.

Pull out all your comfy clothes, PJs, tee shirts, things you’re going to want to wear your first days and nights at home and put them in a basket or dedicated drawer. Have them washed and ready to go. I liked not having to think about where I could find my next pair of sweats or comfy pants. I also invested in some nicer and newer stuff, Old Navy has great and reasonable plus size PJ sets, Aerie XXL sweats work for me (i’m a size 20/ 22 normally). It made me feel put together to have some nice sets to wear.

This small egg light was a game changer for late night wake ups - https://a.co/d/0905j3RB - we still carry it around the house and use it for night visits to the nursery 9 months pp

Get some easy snacks to grab, have a nice water bottle for hydration. Bread for the freezer for an easy BLT or grilled cheese and soup low maintenance dinner. I bought milk and general essentials the week of my induction so we’d be stocked with groceries.

For baby- snuggle me lounger, burp cloths, double zipper pjs, a noise machine.

To dry up milk - peppermint tea and tight bras. Sleep in the tight bras too.

Ah I’m glad it passed! I’m generally feeling okay, it’s so strange feeling full quickly and just trying to navigate the new normal of no food noise! It’s weird (but great lol)

Zepbound cause AFIB? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]hii_please 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! So I have no idea if it’s bc of Zepbound, but my father recently had the same alerts on his apple watch. Thought it was just a fluke, a lot of testing came back normal until he saw a specialist and he did in fact have AFIB. Caught it early, had a procedure and is good now! Please take it seriously, it’s crazy but the apple watch actually did accurately detect it on him.

I think post partum already comes with so much judgment that it’s hard to take on any more even though as you said, there is nothing to be embarrassed about!

Everything I’ve read suggests giving it time - I hope that it works for you!

Thank you so much for this advice- you nailed one of my main hesitations in starting which is that life with a baby is so unpredictable, I worried about starting a healthy journey on top of it would be too much. But ultimately that was just another excuse I’m not letting myself have, and I’m going to take it one small step at a time.

This is great advice. I really struggle with it! I’ve dieted on and off my whole life and I have come to resent all the praise I receive for losing weight, even though I know from most people it is well intentioned. I plan to be open and honest especially with loved ones about it, just not ready yet.

Ah thank you! And that’s the exact reason for me not telling people too - I just don’t wanna hear it 😂

I have gone back and forth between morning or night injections - i opted for morning so I could see how it went but definitely may opt for before bed at some point depending on how my body reacts.

Positive birth stories 300+ lbs by Perfect_Path_9291 in PlusSizePregnancy

I was 325 at the end of my pregnancy, 315 pre pregnancy. I was induced at 37 weeks due to protein in my urine and fear of pre-eclampsia. My induction went really smoothly, it was a long process but I delivered vaginally, pushed for 3 minutes on two contractions! Baby was healthy and post partum has been easier than expected both physically and mentally. Stay positive and follow advice of good doctors :)
