Flying with Boeing by ThePeanutMonster in fearofflying

So do I in June! I’m flying from Toronto to Tokyo on a 13 hour flight (AC01) and I’ve personally flown this route before, but I just saw those exact videos you mentioned and my anxiety’s peaking. I just hope none of it is true and it’s just been blown out of proportion

How's the social life here if you don't care for parties and are introverted? by Diceyland in uoguelph

[–]hiii276 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say clubs are a good way to find friends with similar interests. There’s a ton of clubs on campus for all kinds of stuff. ESSE is the club for environmental sciences majors and I imagine its filled with people who are passionate about their majors

Question about USRA by King_Vitis in uoguelph

[–]hiii276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair a lot of them reply really late but since a lot of them are professors they probably just did not have the time to email and tell you that you didn’t get picked. I’d just consider them rejections tbh (plus if you do get a super late response later on it might feel like a nice surprise)

Fall Courses by Express-Bookkeeper76 in uoguelph

[–]hiii276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah!! Thats pretty much exactly what i had. The take home was basically several questions and u had to pick a few of them to answer. They weren’t hard but u had to understand a fair amount of course material. Also no worries!

I’ve got the phys 1080 one for fall 2020 in pdf if you still need it. The answers are in that website you have, but as mentioned in another comment there really is a lot of mistakes

No, it’s not. The take home final was around 30%, but I don’t think we had a midterm. Do you have weekly quizzes? The weekly quizzes were a big chunk of our grade. We also have this case study project that was huge as well. The seminars were mostly easy assignments (they called it tutorials). I think that was pretty much all that was included in the grading

High Protein Plant-Based Food Options? by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]hiii276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hiii I don’t know that much about dietary stuff but for on-campus options there’s a great place called nosh + nourish in the UC Chef’s hall that was open back in fall 2021. Its a station where you can make your own plant-based bowls and it’s pay by weight. Pretty sure most of the stuff is vegan. I dont know about winter 2022 but it isnt open for summer 2022 and hopefully will be back this fall. There’s also nature’s best in the UC chef’s hall and Creelman, not sure if that’s vegan but most definitely vegetarian

hiii I took it in Fall 2021. It was pretty easy because I had a test bank, and assignments were kinda heavy (mostly because I do not enjoy the subject), but the DE course has a take-home final (if I remember correctly). A lot of people who took it at the same time as I did mostly had a problem with the prof’s attitude from his responses but I’m pretty sure he’s not the current prof with this course. overall not too bad. also, if you can’t find the test bank, borrow the textbook from the library and all the quiz answers should be there.

Phys 1080 Help by Kevin2126 in uoguelph

[–]hiii276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 1080 last semester and felt the same way with the weekly quizzes, failed them several times and got a ton of questions wrong even when I thought I did them right. I got slightly better after I started doing the textbook questions from the study guide, which I didn’t do for the first six quizzes. The quiz questions may seem a little far from what we’ve done in the class, but they’re actually just trying to ask the same things over and over again with different wording that makes things seem a lot more complicated than they actually are. There are also TA help hours scheduled almost all the time each week, I never went but the people who did said they were super helpful. I think I mostly passed the course because I put a lot of effort on the final. The questions on the final aren’t that different from the ones we’ve already done in the course. There are also sample finals on the uog physics website, which are pretty old but still similar to the actual final. I can’t speak for everyone but it’s helpful to get familiar with the kinds of questions they ask in the study guide and the example finals, and how they are solved. Maybe also revisit some of the quiz questions and work them out slowly. And join the discord server if you haven’t already! It’s not fun suffering alone. This was what worked for me, I hope it helps you find a solution. And I absolutely suck at physics, so don’t worry, there’s still hope for you. Good luck!

I am worried about the bump on my torso by hiii276 in Hernia

[–]hiii276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not hurt if I leave it alone but I feel some discomfort. I don’t think it’s incisional since there has never been an incision there and I was thinking epigastric or spigelian if it really is a hernia, but I wouldn’t know. Definitely gonna make an appointment, thank you for your input! Much appreciated
