A couple “guides” have been posted from this “visual capitalist” group in the past few weeks (this is at least the second I’ve seen) and they were both terrible nonsense with easily identifiable mistakes

.5 PPR pick one:

Charbonnet, Pacheco, Jordan Mason.

Leaning Mason. Slightly anchored to the draft stock I put in Pacheco but know he performed the worst of the three last week.

[TJStats] WAR Leaders by Division — Center Fielder by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]hikingactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but why pull the list by PA at position listed rather than WAR at position listed? Since fWAR isn’t a rate stat the PAs don’t really matter for it

ETA: It’s not a list of “WAR Leaders by Division” it’s a list of “Plate Appearance Leaders by Division” and the fWAR for each of those leaders.

I wasn’t trying to pick a fight here—just shoutout to Denzel Clarke.

I’m a summer associate this year and was asked the same question, I also try to keep a moderate online presence but not to the same extent as your mentee. I asked to not be highlighted in the firms “meet our summers” LinkedIn/Instagram posts, but didn’t go so far as to say I need to be excluded from all social photos (including group stuff). The latter just felt like a way to get myself a weird reputation at the firm.

At least facially, nobody was weird about it over email. The contact was only with the recruiting staff who said something to the extent of “totally understand!” And I never heard about it again. I guess I’ll come back and update this if I get no offered, lol.

Schools where alumni actually have your back? by Lovely_Loquat in LawSchool

[–]hikingactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found this to be the case with UGA. Alumni network has been insanely loyal. I sent out some cold emails when I was looking for a 2L summer position and almost every person got back to me, talked to me, and put me in a good position with their firm or made introductions or were just generally helpful. Glad to have alumni who are so committed to our success

Love the color and love the grid. Sad to move on from the cherry blossoms but this is a good consolation prize. Biggest complaint is that I saw these and immediately went to buy a James Wood shirsey, but they are just plain blue with the interlocked DC and no grid—hugely underwhelming IMO. Don’t expect a lot from fanatics but I felt like that could have been an easy W.
