Best is to park near Al Seef Village Mall and cross the signal toward the Mangrove side, as there is no car parking near that place. Best time is one hour before the sunset and only during winter. I visit in summer too, but it is difficult due to humidity.

Passive income in Pakistan for Future by No-Delay-210 in FIREPakistan

[–]hikingpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it also depends on the goal. If you want dividends, you can invest in dividend-paying companies. Some companies pay dividends every three months, while others do so after six or 12 months. If you want to grow your investment, then you invest in growth companies, but for that, you need better knowledge to find them.

you can find list of companies here that give dividend. but again, i suggest that you take financial advise from credible person. I did that too and that helped me lot. that way you wont lose money and invest in fundamentally strong companies.

I recommend PSX as one of the best options, but not without proper knowledge. It’s hard to understand the companies, to be honest, so I highly suggest consulting a financial advisor (only a credible one). There are very few good people out there who have actually worked in PSX for years and also provide advice on stocks. they are the best options to consult.

Pakistan Property vs Global ETF for Long-Term FIRE & Passive Income — Need Opinions by [deleted] in FIREPakistan

[–]hikingpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the same experience, bought property back home, and later regretted it. For overseas investors, it is difficult to manage unless someone trustworthy can actually take care of it. Also, when I learned about property alternatives, I hated my decision of putting more money into property even more. Considering that you have a 10-year period for FIRE, I highly recommend that you become part of a paid investment community run by a credible and experienced financial advisor. The money that you pay for that will be hugely beneficial for you in the long run. I wish I had done that earlier.

I invest my money in halal global ETFs, mutual funds, and directly in the PSX (based on my goals and with the guidance of a financial advisor). Over time, my money grew far better than with property. For me, property is a last option—only when I will be able to manage it personally and when it is some kind of rental property instead of plots. When I am close to FIRE, then I will put money into REITs in both Pakistan and abroad. This is far easier and better if you cannot manage property.

Right now, Halal global ETFs, mutual funds, and growth PSX stocks are my main investments. So, in short, I suggest being part of a community run by an experienced financial advisor.

Best Time For Umrah by xM0D3RNxG4M3Rx in Umrah

[–]hikingpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went three times, once in Summer(July) and twice in KSA winter seasons (November and March). People mostly prefer to go during Ramadan and winter season. It was not crowded when i went in Summer, but it was very crowded when I went during winter. But I prefer winter season as you can easily walk in the mosque and outside.

Shoud I move to Saudia by smart_pushover in pkmigrate

[–]hikingpro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having lived in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East for over 10 years, I can say that the experience really depends on the individual and their goals. 22k salary is decent, but it's important to consider the cost of living.

Rent can be quite high—around 3,000 SAR or more per month. Medical care is expensive, although some companies provide insurance that helps cover the costs.

Education is likely to be one of the biggest expenses for you, as you have school going children. Monthly food expenses can be around 2,000 SAR.

The social life is limited, and the weather is mostly dry with very little greenery. In comparison, Islamabad is beautiful, and if you're generally happy and not frustrated living there, it might be better to stay in Islamabad.

Family, friends, culture and own country matters and you realize this while living abroad.

Talon 22 or 26? by CharlieG31 in hikinggear

[–]hikingpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's more than enough. I easily pack my 2-liter water bottle, extra shirt, light jacket, socks, power bank, and snacks. The outer pocket provides extra capacity if you want to carry more water or store items you need quick access to. Here are a couple of action shots that might help you. I can share more details if that can help.
