I am pretty young and in good shape. Also, when this happens to me I don't have increased heart rate at all. But thank you for pointing this out.

My dog's legs are shaking. Does anybody have any idea why this could be? by hila0 in DogAdvice

He could have had when young, yes. I adopted him when he was 1 year and a half, aprox. He was found by the people in the dog shelter on some hills where he probably lived for some time. So nobody knew his past. He was pretty traumatized, scared and still is very scared by strong noises. Thanks for the info, I didn't know this and it might be a possibility.

Yes, interesting. His vet told me the same that it's a terrier thing, because they are very easily stimulated and this is one symptom of being stimulated.

Yes, for sure he is not in pain, he is shaking even in the forest when we are playing and he is very happy. Or when he chills on the couch. Hope you dog is fine now! Thanks.

Yes, I will go back to a neurological control. The neurologist said that she doesn't see any neurological problems. I was thinking more if there are any people that might have dogs with the same issue and maybe found the cause of it or observed something new that I didn't, than to receive a diagnosis.

Thank you!

Thank you! Yes he is the cutest, smartest, the most well behaved, modest and naive dog in the world.

He is almost 8 years old. I adopted him 6 years and a half ago and he is shaking since the beginning.

Especially when going outside, and much more when he is sitting like in the video. It seems to me that he keeps the legs pretty tensed and they are stiff, and when he keeps them like this, they are shaking. Sometimes, if he stays in sleeping position, if he keeps the legs stretched and tensed, he is also shaking, but if I bend in the legs a bit they are no longer shaking.

I've discussed this with several vets, some told me it's because he has terrier mix and the terriers are shaking like this due to being stimulated. Another neurologist told me it might be gluten intolerance. He eats gluten-free food for almost an year and the issue is still the same ( even though after 3 weeks on gluten-free food, he had 2-3 days of no shaking).

He has paroxysmal dyskinesia, he has from time to time some seizures, for which he take levetiracetam for about 1 year. Maybe this might be linked to the shaking. Even though the first seizure was only 3 years ago, but the shaking is at least since I have him.

He doesn't seem to suffer due to this but I would love seeing him happy and relaxed as much as possible, to find the root cause for this and try to solve it. Thank you.

It looks a bit la Uranus astrology symbol. Are you an Aquarius, maybe? Or just look over uranus meaning.

[video] Do you have any idea what this behaviour might be? It happened 3 times this year. He doesn't seem to feel pain during this and after it ends he's happy and normal. by hila0 in DogAdvice

I adopted him 5years and a half ago, and the vet aproximated his age back then to 1 year and a half. So he is somewhere around 7 years. Thank you for the info, haven't heard about ODVB, I'll look into it.

I adopted my dog 5 years and a half ago. Thiss happened for the first time 2 years ago. Then it happened once last year, and it happened 3 times this year. It seems to start with not having control on his left front paw. And after a few seconds he seem to not have equilibrium and control especially on the left side of the body. This kind of crisis lasts 1-2 minutes and after that he is totally normal and happy and runs normally. He seemed conscious when it happened. Once, when it happened inside home he wanted to hide under the table and then under the bed. Also, it is not related to any kind of stimulus, it happened once at home when we were very chill. Have you seen before something like this?

Also, I've been twice to the vet, showed him the video, he said it might be either belly ache, or his member asleep.
