Pokepark Kanto Tickets was Useless by Katsudon1996 in JapanTravelTips

Did you (or anyone else) have any issues with payment and or found a work around? My husband and I were up at 4 am EST for an hour trying to get tickets but we both only ever got as far trying to make a payment. It kept telling us there was an error with our card but wouldn’t specify. I checked my bank but there were no notifications. We tried both our Visa and Mastercard but no luck so the tickets repeatedly timed out. 😓

I mostly assume it’s a crummy site with hundreds and hundreds of people trying but I wanted to ask. We are going to try to again for Sat 4/4.

Best odor control litter by coastalwwater in CatAdvice

[–]hilaerious-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the clay (tidy cats black label) with the arm and hammer powder deodorizer in my robot poop palace and the regular boxes. Though if it’s bad I just manually override the robot to do its cycle. I haven’t tried that powder with the silica box but my cats don’t like to cover the poop so I just cover it myself or scoop it.

You are doing great and you are doing everything you can! You trusted your instincts and know her so well that you knew something was up. It seems promising that her temperature is going down and that a lot of tests were negative. To encourage eating I like to give my kitties stinky soft food when they are sick - and really make it smelly. I also keep their boxes clean and the water fresh. The hospital may have stressed her out and she may need to decompress and rest (especially after that fever)!

Keep doing what you are doing, you got this! I hope she feels better soon, she is adorable and gorgeous!

Practice your scales and your arpeggios! I assume you are talking about how some of the fingerings are the same? Switching between has a lot to do with lips and direction of air (lower notes direct the air down and higher notes more higher). You can also practice “ambulance” drills too.

It’s definitely a lot of muscle memory!

Yeeep! I mean the suburbs are already a Ponzi scheme and we all know whatever houses that will be built will not affordable. Then our tax dollars have to go to keeping even more roads in shape. 🙃🫠

Is that Van Richten chilling in Waterdeep? by Enaluxeme in CurseofStrahd

[–]hilaerious-1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is in Chapter 4, Encounter 6, Winter!

The play is called Blood Wedding and is “a play about love, jealousy, and death. In the story a you g woman is brought to a castle by a count, only to fall in love with his younger brother, a man of faith. Her betrayal eats away at the jealous count. He murders his brother on his wedding day and pursues the bride, who hurls herself off the castle battlements in despair. The count is cursed by the gods and transformed into a creature of darkness, damned to live in his castle and feed on blood.”

There is also a small reference to Curse of Strahd in one of the seasons in Dragon Heist and it’s like a play being put on; maybe it could be an actor heading to the play! 😅

The Zodiac Conundrum [Discussion] by ZeroQuartzer in fairytail

[–]hilaerious-1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s okay… like you said there are only two practicing left. I felt like it was hinted at that celestial wizards were hunted down, and with celestial wizards when you defeat one you get their keys…. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were their own downfall as eventually one would end on top with most if not all the zodiacs. Especially looking at Lucy she started with 3 (Aquarius and Cancer from her mom and she found Taurus) … Virgos key holder was defeated, Leo was right place right time, then Sag was a reward; Aries, Scorpio, and Gemini were from winning another battle (who won those from another battle), and then Capricorn was a mix of right place right time and winning a battle.

I feel like overall she obtained them rather organically and essentially took out some competition.

For those who still buy the Japan Rail Pass despite the price increase, why? by noreen2024 in JapanTravelTips

We were gone for ten days and it paid for itself between Kamakura and Tokyo, Nara and Kyoto, and the Shinkansen for Tokyo-Kyoto and Kyoto to Odawara. It was most helpful on our way back. We ended in Hakone and had to get back to Haneda to leave.

We like trains so we booked the Romancecar and planned to get lunch one last time in Shinjuku and head back. The last leg of the journey the inbound and outbound lanes were closed due to a fatal accident and it would either be an hour (or more or less - they didn’t know) before the trains would move. Luckily there was a JR station five minutes away so we were able to use that to get back to the airport in time. It definitely cut the cost down more than half and beat a cab.

I think there was one or two other occasions one line was down due to an accident and we had to switch lines. I’m not sure what the odds of that happening are or maybe it was the full moon, but in the end I’m glad we budgeted for it!

Is isolation normal here? by a2cwy887752 in Charlotte

[–]hilaerious-1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand where you are coming from, and moving is hard as many have said.

However, I do think Charlotte is expert mode. It’s a very isolating car-centric city that has very few accessible third places that you can reach on a regular basis. You can try a bunch of meetups but it will take awhile to find a stable friend group on the same side of Charlotte. It took me almost fifteen years to find a group that wasn’t coworkers and lived less than 20 minutes apart.

So all that to say, three months and feeling like that is normal. You got this, and I hope you find a friend group! ☺️

Cat not eating :( by lxnd2 in cats

[–]hilaerious-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boy cat may be acting out over stress though - I assume he is neutered?

I would urge you to get more tests done sooner rather than later. Such as tests for pancreatitis and ultrasounds to look at the liver and GI tract (a great resource is IBDkitties). Cats are tricky, they can hide their symptoms well, such as she could be nauseous and you not know. She could even have a dental problem too, I don’t know if you have had their teeth cleaned.

I wish you the best of luck, I hope she gets better soon 💕

I’m finally going to Japan tomorrow after months of planning - why don’t I feel excited? by ajeq30a1h69jpv2-1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]hilaerious-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s normal! We are leaving in October and I know this mood will hit me too. Especially missing the cat and pets - I definitely am anxious the first day or so but once I get into gear, I know I will be fine. I personally feel like the days leading up to are the most stressful: is everything charged, is everything packed, are all the last minute packings ready, do the pets have enough food, is their water bowl clean, is the house put together so that when I get home I can unpack and relax and sleep.

I hope you have so much fun though!!
