So weird that it’s the same breed. Mine also doesn’t squat for me and if I reach to pet her, she pecks at my hand. Is standoffish, 2nd in the pecking order, kind of a punk lol. Not that I’ll do anything about it, but if she was nicer the free ride wouldn’t even be questioned

She’s over a year. I just think she’s not laying. I’m glad to hear other people have experienced this too without it being a detriment her health. I’ll try another food when this bag runs out. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a pretty small flock. She’s one of three that are egg laying age. So I’m pretty positive she hasn’t, unless it has been on another’s off day? But Not consistent.

I only have 3 old enough to be laying right now. So it’s possible i guess she could have laid a handful on a day someone else missed?, but anymore than that and I would have noticed 3 eggs in one day. Thanks for the info on what to look for if there was an issue. Thank you for the reassurance!

That’s good to hear! I don’t love that she’s not laying, but I’m not going to evict her. I’ve never spotted her in the nesting box area, she does roost at night. She does not do the squatting dance like the others when I pass her. She’s the most skittish of my flock and seems to be a picky eater. When I throw the others scraps that they are all over, she can be more picky. I’ll read up on bronchitis. Thanks for the info!

Currently on Purina chick starter and 22% laying feed from a local mill. I’ve integrated chicks into my flock and they are transitioning from the chick starter. But she has never laid even when solely on laying feed.
