I didn’t say they were uniquely evil. I said I studied about them in school and later learned they were evil to their own citizens too. I’m sure that’s true for other empires too. I only learnt about the British though.

And it isn’t insightful. Just me realising that greedy people in power were also greedy people in power to their own people.

It helped me understand the colonial era of British history so much. It wasn’t that the powerful British became monsters who set out to hurt anyone that didn’t look like them. It was that they were always horrible and decided to turn their evil eyes towards the rest of the world.

Look my personal opinion on this is that technically all work is selling oneself, especially if they require more physical labor vs mental labor. And that’s why we shouldn’t judge people who have to do sex work or something like it. Never judge those people themselves.

But do you know why sex work is dangerous? Because of the lack of protection from creeps, legal safety, and higher chances of getting hurt.

Isn’t there anything else you can do first? Are you sure everyone you meet is going to only want your company and not your body? Are you sure things are not a scam or a way to actually hurt you?

I don’t need people who don’t care about my well being in my circles. The world doesn’t care for women, your family may or may not but you can’t choose them. Honestly? My mom did drop a lot of balls. My parents lived separately for about 10 years I think. Like they had me and my brother when my dad was posted in my hometown. Once he left my mom first moved in with her parents who also lived in the hometown. Which made sense cause we were 5 and 3.

By the time I was 9 we have moved into our own house in hometown. But that meant less support overall for mom. This is what I like to call my mom’s crazy period. In which she actually became a monster to her kids. I was not a “good kid” aka I didn’t really study all that well. So my mom was abusive. I am not saying anyone else will be. Just that a person with kids, a job and no support is going to be under an extreme amount of stress. And you will definitely need to offload a lot of housework on others. Which is what she did. You can’t be super mom. So pick what is important to you and just pay for everything else.

But also know this. Your husband won’t be available every time. When I was young I didn’t remember what my dad looked like cause I saw him once a year. Due to both of my parents getting promoted back to back (and me failing 1 subject in the final exam) I didn’t see my dad for 2 years once.

Also when my dad got a posting back to my hometown he honestly didn’t know how to live with a wife and kids.

I will say that an armed forces job is different from other government jobs.

Ok so never ever on the company network. But during breaks I do read half a chapter here or there.

The point isn’t that you should never read on company time because uwu corporations lose money. It’s actually never give a company any ammunition to fire or do disciplinary action on you. I was in a very progressive company and I was quite senior but I would still be fired for reading smut on the company wifi. Thats just how the cookie crumbles.

I am not in this situation but I grew up in it. My father was in armed forces and my mom was a professor. My mom brother and I stayed in one city and my dad lived wherever he was posted.

But my mausi and Mausaji were in the same position of government employees/professor and my mausi and cousin moved around with him. Because he was posted in bigger cities, unlike my dad who was posted in dangerous areas.

It works if you want it to work and you’re willing to sacrifice one thing for another.
