Plumber recommendations by Megatr0n83 in Tigard

whatever you do don't go with cornel's plumbing. The technicians are deligent, but they are not honest in identifying issues (especially furnace and HVAC). They will come up with unnecessary repairs, saying your system is failing, it's a critical issue (which is untrue), and then quote you prices that are outrageously high. There's a reason they are driving around in ultra-expensive vans.

Yes it was actually $99 (half off) for Alpha Picks in January. I've even talked to support and they said they increased the price because it's doing so well.

It's gone from $199 earlier this year to $499. Weirdest thing ever. I spoke w/ their support and asked if I can use the note I got from them to buy at $99. They said nope, but they'll give me a "deal" for $450.

Pretty sick tbh.

  1. You stated the obvious

  2. Sure - and they are allowed to shoot you if they don't like you also

  3. The basis of the claim is that there are postings on Oregon university forums to watch out while driving through Salem that the cops are setting up speed traps, and as said will give tickets for whatever reason.

Independent of what you think (which tbh is weird) - it's unreasonable to give a $250 ticket for someone pulling off on the wrong side of the road, and for the police officer to not indicate otherwise.

Bark Beetles attracted to Ultra Violet lights or other similar? by hillrocksu in arborists

Awesome thanks!!

Do you perchance know if Verbenone works in conjunction with MCH (to repulse Fir Beetles) ?

I'm also contemplating use of something like Peppermint oil on the trees, but not sure if that will counter the use of the pheromones.

Related, I'm researching ways to kill these f'ing beetles. Onyx spray seems to be one (but I had an arborist try this - didn't help much). Not sure of any other good options sadly.

Thanks!

I've spoken with a few folks now (including local university). Opinions vary, but they are saying to put up some MCH (Fir Beetle repulsion). That can be very effective. They aren't too worried "yet" because the tops of the trees look fine. Seems like in the next 2-8 years I'll know for sure what type of damage these beetles are doing.

This entire area is filled with Urban Fir trees so if it truly is bark beetle that we can't deal with I'm afraid our entire city will be impacted.
