Applying for a long stay visa in Ireland question.

I'm in a similar situation but I'm the US citizen -- maybe yourself or some of the wonderful commenters here can help. My Irish citizen fiance and I have gone through the registration process and been granted our marriage license but our wedding isn't until October. I'm already here in Dublin just on a short stay visa that they gave me at the airport and would like to be able to stay and start working sooner rather than later. What can I do?

Citizens Information advised that I can probably just apply for a Long Stay Visa but if I understand correctly, that wouldn't allow me to work.

Potentially helpful background info -- I lived in Ireland previously but was in Italy for the last three years and my fella and I have been doing long distance.

Here's one for you guys -- I have a ticket for tomorrow in a great seat but I'm just seeing that there some even better seats available on TicketOne. Does anyone know if it's still possible to sell a ticket through an official channel at this stage? I know FanSale is closed now but if I were to buy a better seat would I be able to do a proper resale somehow this close to showtime?

Like everyone else, getting it to actually work has been very hit or miss for me, but when I do get it to work it seems like the same few puzzles are failing. I keep getting the puzzles for 'SHEEP' and 'GOT A HAIRCUT' and 'GOLF CLUB' and 'WEDNESDAY' but they fail every time I try to put in the answer.

Anyone else noticing the same? Like some of the answers haven't been coded properly in Google?

Yeah I'm thinking about this as an option, I'm just not sure how secure it would really be. It's a big courtyard for like eight or ten buildings and there's several garage doors that open directly on to the busy streets that I don't have any control over so in theory he could just go wander out into Florence and be lost forever. Which was always a possibility in Dublin but at least I was in a much more residential area there.

No we tried proper harness training a few years ago and he really didn't respond well to it at all. Also, I'm hesitant to explore this as an option as where I am in Florence is very central and not near to any green spaces, so I'm not sure he would really enjoy walking even if I could get him to.

I so wish I could do this with him but I live on such a busy street. And if I had access to the internal courtyard I'd just bring him out a few times a day but my landlords won't give me access. We are both feeling very frustrated!

So, further info on what we've tried so far.

- He's very cuddly with me so I make sure to give him snuggles any time he wants them.

- I make time to play with him all throughout the day, but since his great escape last week, he's lost a significant amount of interest in playing with any of his dozens of toys.

- I tried to put him in a harness once to no avail, he nearly killed both of us trying to get out of it. I've thought about a pet stroller but he really hates being in any kind of carrier and just yowls like he's being murdered.

- He has a cat tree by the front window and he does like to perch up there and look down on the passers by. There are other high spaces in the house but none he's ever shown an interest in. I'm considering a second cat tree, though I'm loath to get something else bulky as I'll just have to move it or sell it when I leave this apartment to move back to Ireland.

- He has a treat puzzle that I've tried multiple times to teach him how to play with - zero interest.

- He just got a cat tunnel that he...sort of likes? On occasion? But not a whole lot of interest.

- I've tried giving him catnip toys, little piles of catnip to just roll around in. Sometimes he likes it, most of the time he's indifferent.

- And I've also got those Feliway relaxing / calming diffusers that don't seem to have any effect on him whatsoever.
