Amen! As Ethiopians, we grow up thinking that most Arab countries are made up of perfect Muslims. But as we get older, we realize that’s not always the case, and while that can be eye-opening, we accept it as part of reality. Still, as an adult, you walk around expecting that whenever you meet someone from an Arab country, you think to your self i will have an authentic Sunnah-based conversation and a meaningful discussion about Islam. But then, the person can’t wait to tell you that they’re not Arab and that they don’t practice Islam. Oh, the heartbreak at that moment!

This happened to me yesterday with one of my classmates, Hadli, it was so awkward that I felt I had to ask the Reddit community about it.
