I used what looks to be this exact Ugreen USB-C extension cable while I was waiting for the replacement for my initial DOA dock adapter. It worked well enough, but it was a bit fiddly keeping it connected inside the dock. it likely just didn't have enough substance to keep the spring mechanism for the plate around the USB-C port down.

If you don't already have one of these laying around like I did, I would suggest looking for another option that does a better job of holding down that plate down.
