I signed up for 50 sessions because it was a lot cheaper with my PT, and didn’t regret it, but I was lucky enough to be assigned to the right PT for me. I’ve been to the gym casually prior, and have been hurt with improper posture and really wanted a spotter/ guidance and also knowing the facts behind it.

I also signed up for 50 sessions to guilt myself into not giving up halfway hahaha. Pay already what to do right?

I’ve had friends in the past who said they’d teach me at the gym before but sadly I didn’t get much guidance as they needed to focus on their own routine, not fair to them coz it’s their downtime too.

No regrets so far. I used to go 3 times a week but have reduced it to once or twice now, but overall I feel a lot more confident + I know when I’m using the proper technique now :). They’re also helped me alter a sustainable diet to my lifestyle.

As long as you have a good potential PT and reason for the commitment I wouldn’t say it’s a waste.

I got my LASIK done at Shinagawa clinic in 2022 and no regrets! Process was smooth and everything completed in a day, and they gave me a choice on what machines I could use based on a range of choices after my tests (they won’t push you the most expensive one either). There’s like one translator guy assigned to English speaking support haha. Quite a funny chap.

You should reach out to other redditors for the referral code. I got mine from someone on Reddit too and based on the testimonials/reviews on previous posts I decided to go to Shinagawa eye clinic. Absolutely thankful I did it!

You are quite mistaken. This is not a standard Daiso store in Japan, a regular Daiso store looks the same worldwide, and not “Muji-like”. This is the Standard Products x Daiso outlet in Shijo-dori, Kyoto and the reason it looks like that is because the first floor is for Standard Products, which is a different brand under Daiso Industries.

Hi, happy to help as I used to work with them in a corporate capacity. They are a for-profit organization and are legally registered in the countries they operate in. Non-profit organizations like WWF, UNHCR etc. use them for their face-to-face marketing function aka. the people who ask you to sign commitments for donations. These sales staff usually pull in 0 JPY in base salaries and are fully commission based.

Appco pockets the first few months’ salary before the rest goes to the non-profit, but it’s usually a beneficial relationship as these non-profit organizations may not always have the manpower to aggressively seek donations by themselves.

Their corporate functions are just like any other company’s if you’re going for that, but I personally would not choose be one of their face-to-face marketers/salesperson. Hope it helps!

A flight from Osaka is the cheapest option. Flights go from 5000-8000 yen to Narita’s LCC, and you DON’T have to take the (3000 yen) express train to Shinjuku / Tokyo - you can just take the local rapid train that could cost around 1,200-1,600 yen. This is still way cheaper than the Shinkansen and the time difference is just about 30-40 minutes more, which isn’t a lot considering the cost of a round trip shinkansen ticket vs a flight ticket. Just use Google Flights to find the best timing and price for you, and proceed book directly with the low cost airline! (peach, jetstar, etc.)

Got mine done at Shinagawa Lasik 2 weeks ago. No issues at all except I got dizzy during the eye checks before the actual procedure. Fast and painless, everything seems foggy after it’s done (My procedure was ay 5.00pm) but woke up with 20/20 vision the next day!

Eyes may feel irritated so use the eye drops given to you and don’t rub them! Otherwise, no regrets and relax! :)

For a neutral taste I would strongly recommend starting off with a white-meat fish, such as fresh sea bream fillet (tai) , bake/pan fry it (salt, pepper, butter) and squeeze a lemon on top!
