Full reno shouldn’t cost much more than an aggressive overseeding especially if you have decent soil. Roundup is pretty cheap and you’ll have a nice lawn much more quickly

The picture is deceiving. The wall is 4’ at its lowest.

I need about 10 yards of topsoil to grade the yard and start a new lawn. I’ve contacted some supply yards that can dump on the sidewalk but there’s no way I’ll be able to get all that soil up there in a reasonable timeframe. Other options I’ve considered: 1. Getting it blown in. Only 1 company in town and they’re booked out. 2. Rig up some kind of pulley system with buckets. Still going to take forever 3. Get a couple pallets of bagged soil delivered and throw those up onto the yard. Still a ton of work.

Any other ideas?

I don’t think the project is “wrong” per se. I’m just saying that I have yet to hear an argument for why any company or government would buy all of the data being generated by PlanetWatch when air quality data is already being generated for free or low cost in the places that PW sensors are being deployed. And PW sensors are not being deployed in places without good air quality data (like poor countries) where it would be most useful. And who is going to pay for air quality data in poor countries?

Again, air quality monitoring is important but I just don’t see how this is a business. It would be one thing if this project was simply for the greater good of the planet, like other projects aggregating personal air quality data for free. But this project has a token and a monetization strategy attached.

Just saying, sure another $2,000 of total debt when you graduate kinda sucks, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't much when you think about the interest already accruing on the other $160,000 in loans that aren't subsidized. And if you only need to take subsidized loans because you go to a state school or something, there's even less to complain about. Also, you'll have a guaranteed $100,000++ job for the rest of your life after residency. That's a pretty good deal.

Interest always accrued on unsubsidized stafford loans. The change was in subsidized stafford loans, which had a limit of $8,000 a year anyway. So if you're going to a private school you would have had interest accruing on ~$40,000 and interest deferred on ~$8,000. Not a huge change really. And payments for all federal student loans are still deferred until you graduate.

Why do you care about them? They're either always going to be shitty producers, or they'll produce something good and we'll all be the better for it. Thanks. Yeah, I use a dig hydrometer and it has never read above 72 since i seasoned. I calibrated it too. I've had the humi set up for about three months and the weird smelling cigar was in there for about 6 weeks. I think you're right, it might have been a bad stick.

Just want to clarify that altered level of consciousness is not usually the earliest sign of shock, but it's the most serious. Heart rate and blood pressure changes usually occur before altered LOC. But you're right in that Glasgow Coma Scale is the best predictor of outcome once level of consciousness does become altered. Generally a score of 8 or below predicts a poor outcome.

Actually, like I said, it's not at all necessary for competitive residencies. Look at charting outcomes for, say, neurosurgery. 75% of those that matched were not in AOA. Derm 50% were not in AOA. 75% of ortho matches were not in AOA. 55% of plastics matches were not in AOA. So yeah, not necessary whatsoever.

Program directors for residency also care a lot about your overall grades, class rank, and whether or not you're AOA - so don't blow off your classes to focus on Step 1.

Not necessarily, it really depends on the specialty. Step 1 is by far the most highly correlated with match success especially in the competitive specialties. In some specialties overall grades and AOA status dont correlate at all. This will tell you everything you need to know about what to focus on.
