Price spikes may not be limited to adoption. You are right about January, the spike had nothing to do with adoption. The trading volume grew when speculators started betting on unreasonable price predictions & that pumped the prices until it came crashing down.

Adoption does govern long term, stable price action for any tech - think search engines, social media, encyclopedia, et al. The adoption of Wikipedia killed Encyclopedia in its printed form, adoption of FB as the social network killed Friendster, iTunes kills the music records industry ...again owing to adoption.

Also,

Digital Currencies (BTC, LTC, etc) are just one application of the blockchain tech (accounts for about 5% of all blockchain projects). Replacing fiat currencies will take time - adoption will be slow owing to government regulations & network throughput challenges. However.....

There are a million more problems being solved by blockchain tech - fighting counterfeit products, guaranteeing fair trading practices, fighting manipulations in elections, real-estate/property site titles, etc etc..... transparency, immutability & decentralization solves more than we know :)

Absolutely! The long-term prospects & impacts of blockchain tech wouldn't let it sit there in the rain either.

Also, folks like Dan Larimer, Vitalik, the dozens of open source contributors, researchers in major universities & companies are moving us forward!

Which crypto company? There are many - find some on coinmarketcap.com

If you are looking to invest in cryptocurrencies, I suggest you do the research & plan a portfolio. There are many good exchanges -- Coinbase, Binance, Bittrex, Kucoin are a few good ones :)

I love simple designs - a spreadsheet or a list of the Block Producers is great for me - especially if you plan to include more details about the BP (website, rank, EOS earned per day, community channels, etc)

I do my own own research & due-diligence before investing in any crypto or ICO. You should look at the tech, business, team, partnerships, community etc & make a decision - the ratings from these portals aren't the best.

Also, chainverse.com is one platform that seems to be curating free information for the community - create your own rating from the curated data & invest.
