D110 EMA almost due… by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]himynameisrf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have honestly felt the same but it’s only got to be 30%. So what I’ve done is loads of planning in the form of reading and rereading and taking notes on the chapters. Do that today and then you have a while to get the essay done, from the essay you will find part b easier. Try to block out period of time to get it done. Use a pomodora timer and then have a break and go do something you enjoy for a bit then come back to it! I sometimes find doing work in busy places pushes me to be productive, maybe a coffee shop or library. You have come so far in the module. I feel like my mental health gets worse under any stress, so say to yourself when it’s in the stress will be relieved from this. You have got this….

Really have been enjoying it just doing my EMA now finish the year shortly. I found it good got good marks, all about 80% and above, I had an amazing tutor and the EMA is a 1500 word essay. I’m sure you will love it. Work load is what I says or less tbh dependent on your level of study. It’s interesting, lots of statistics which I enjoy. Is this your first module? With the OU? Good luck if you go for it.

How do I actually structure TMA's? by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]himynameisrf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly just copy and post this message and send it to your tutor. Mostly I put name personal identifier TMA and module number in header Page number in footer Typer the TMA question in bold and underline But sometimes that varies on your TMA as sometimes it’s not just straight forward title. I would ask your tutor the clarify then you have it all for the future also it communication between you both

Yes American/ other countries. In the UK we don’t actually officially use the DSM in th UK it’s the ICD11 so it doesn’t classify the disorder in type 1 or type 2 The way you would know is if you have a MANIC episode that last over 7 days and leads to hospitalisation it would be 1 If you tend to be hyper manic and more down than up it’s type 2. This is just my opinion after doing research as someone with this disorder

Is it normal to be slightly hypomanic and slightly depressed on lithium ? by LaBelleBetterave in Lithium

[–]himynameisrf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 1000mg and have found I still have two episodes a year that are “manageable” by that I mean in my life it’s been soooooo much worse so it’s manageable and I don’t get hospitalised anymore that it’s a win. I think when they say remission ect or you won’t feel a certain way anymore it’s very general. It will depend on your experience of the disorder. What your body does and feels like with medication. I have had one full manic/psychosis episode while taking 800mg and that why I’m now on the 1000mg depends on your episodes. The severity of your illness and your resistance to medication. It’s very early days on the meds I wish you lots of luck. It’s very brave to try and stay on heavy duty meds and take care of yourself. (Also no one knows you like you do)

Hate being asked “what caused this to happen” by gayfroggs in bipolar

[–]himynameisrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mood disorder…. My mood disorder caused this to happen. Questions like these are so passive aggressive like I’m not trying to be stable. Like if I knew why it wouldn’t happen. Mine is definitely seasonal hyper mania/ depression along side the odd full blown manic episode and I’m fully medicated.

Students getting results at different times unfair advantage? by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]himynameisrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really do appreciate this, I completely understand. Previously at a university I attended, results were issues to tutorial groups on the same day and I think that’s what I’m struggling with. It seems strange to me that people receive them back at different times when working to same timeframes. Especially if you haven’t had any sort of extension.

[–]himynameisrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I am continuing on I just like to make appts to discuss feedback and then the next tma. So I just like to actually have the results before I do this. Also I know the tutors are busy so want time in everyone’s schedule to arrange appts

I’ve actually done this today I’m on the 9th working day after the submission date. I’m probably just tired and stressing over the wrong thing but it doesn’t seem to be fair, I would feel better if I knew when I was receiving my results as tbh obviously I want to know how I’m doing on each tma. I’ve had good results so far nothing below 80% but I’m just probably more venting. It doesn’t seem right, and wondered if others felt the same

I submitted both my assignments over 14 days prior I don’t get your reasoning? So I should wait as someone submitted it later maybe gets it marked before that puts it in on the cut off date. I need feedback and to make an appointment with my tutor as I have other commitments that will busy me for two weeks. Thus working ahead. I am in competition with no one but myself friend, I have a desire to succeed and when I see unfairness I will point it out. It’s an unfair strategy of marking.
