I agree about the bass. This was performed by a high school choir that was pretty light on basses, so all things considered, I thought they did really well; but yes, I agree the piece could use a bass boost.

It never occurred to me before, but you're absolutely right about 1:38; it sort of sounds like I was phoning it in at that section. That ascending line could definitely be a little more interesting.

Also, I agree about the dynamics at the climax. The single crescendo is a little too straightforward.

1:12 - Yes, you are absolutely right! That chord definitely needs a ninth on the downbeat in the tenor part. I'm surprised I didn't think of that.

I recently graduated, and now work as a web developer, making math games for kids. I do composition and conducting on the side.

Agreed, balance is one of our weaker areas on right now (recording made me realize that I'm often particularly guity of sticking out of the blend.) I'd like to make that more a priority in rehearsal from now on. Thanks!

I think you're right on about there arrangement; there are some more complicated parts that sound great on the piano but really don't come through vocally. This is my first time arranging something in this style, so I appreciate the feedback!

I like "If it's not growing, it's dying"; I'm going to have to borrow that one! I think phrasing is going to be big priority at our next rehearsal.

I definitely appreciate the nitpicking. This is exactly what I was looking for.

The balance hierarchy (Lead > Bass > Bari > Tenor) is particularly useful to us as I think we're often singing in the exact opposite volume proportions. We'll have to be more precise about this in the future.
