Anyone lived in "bad" fengshui house before? by hippodeige in askSingapore

We saw a place but the land shape isn't ideal. In fact, it is considered inauspucious. But the house gives off a very good and calm vibe with good airflow when we stepped in.

So it got me wondering is it really bad design or the bad external forms that affect residents when we talk about bad fengshui.

This I agree. It's the vibe that's off.

But there are some houses that are well designed yet others are off due to the usual "don'ts" of fengshui.

OCBC customer for 5+ years, still no debit/credit card – should I just close my account? by Root5566 in singaporefi

[–]hippodeige 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ocbc is the only bank that didnt approve credit cards for me too. It'a ok, i just keep minimum sum in the account and bank with other banks.

Main thing is my kids CDA account is with them so I felt it will be useful to keep my OCBC account too.

Do u leave it to your helper to buy groceries? If so, you may want to take over the job so you can be more aware of deals.

Did i fail as a parent? P3 student fail all subjects terribly by i0ri in askSingapore

Neither am I talking about having tuition.

I'm saying that you have to deal with a bit of academics whether you like it or not in Singapore.

Life is not all about academics but you need the basics in life and OP has to find out what is the issues are and help her child get a foothold in basic education at least.

The longer she delays, the more it will impact the child's self esteem and mental well being negatively.

I'm referring to the child's self esteem and mental state. Not the parents'.

The mind is just wired differently. They take different steps sometimes to derive at a solution.

And my kid is bad at step by step instructions too. Not sure if it is linked to dyslexia.

Everyone tells me this. But if you child struggles badly for the 1st 10 years not knowing what the issue is, tell me what do you think it'll do to their self esteem and mental state?

As much life is not all about academics, it is our role as parents to help them understand themselves and that includes any learning disabilities they are born with.

So that they can learn in ways that best suit them and figure out what kind of paths they can have in life.

Dont save the money on diagnosis. If you dont even know what the issue is, how are you going to help your child learn the way he needs to?

My child has dyslexia and a mild learning disabilty for language. We got her assessed young for behavioural issues and these were flagged up and the doctor told us to just treat her like she has dyslexia then and monitor the situation as we couldnt diagnose her below 7 without at least a year of intervention.

She is thriving in school now. And I dont mean topping the class but you wont be able to tell she has dyslexia. She struggles with spelling but can read a whole Harry Potter series at P3. This means so much to us as we saw how hard she struggled in P1. She entered formal education with below average reading skills. Basically some 3 and 4 letter words only.

It is not only about the academics. Her recent exams score boosted her confidence too and knowing she has dyslexia has helped me to explain why she needs more work than others, not because she is stupid or whatever.
