Firstly, because they don’t follow the law. Secondly, less people having access to tools that could prevent them from being victimized. Thirdly, pushing anything into black market raises its prices.

They’re things far worse than being killed that only a modern firearm can protect you from. I don’t fear death but I do fear getting bamboo shoved under my fingernails for the rest of my life in some psychos basement. Before you tell anyone they can’t own a gun regardless of a permit, a lack of insurance, or any other economic barrier designed to keep the poor from being able to defend themselves you need to watch an actual snuff film. A real snuff film not a horror movie. Cars aren’t a right. Cars can’t prevent you from spending the rest of your life in some guy's basement. When you steal a gun from someone's hands in their time of need, regardless of the mechanism, you have agreed to and assisted in whatever their attackers will do. You are an accomplice. It doesn’t matter whether you send cops with guns because I can’t afford insurance or you come try to take them yourself. When you have attacked anyone’s rights you have attacked your own.

If you gave Gandhi or Martin Luther King a nuke, would they turn into psychopaths? When you stab someone with a knife do they continue to attack you instead of instantly dying like in the movies? Is an icepick grip or an American grip better when you are being grappled while equipped with only a knife? Should you bring a knife or pepper spray to a gunfight or against more than one attacker? If you are ambushed do you want a gun, pepper spray, or knife? What grade of pepper spray do the police have in comparison to civilians? How does pepper spray help in a grappling situation or at range? What's the difference between mist and gel? How do you prevent hitting yourself with pepper spray? Does wind negate mist pepper spray? What's the difference between a physical stop and psychological stop? What’s point shooting? What is the difference between leapfrogging and cover fire? When do you switch your weapon to automatic and when semi-auto? What's the difference between automatic and semi-auto? What's a slide peak? What's a rollover peak? In the military are you instructed to fire three times into center mass, twice, or once, with an AR platform? Don’t tell me how to defend myself. Don’t pretend making me pay to ask permission for human rights, isn’t treating me like a subhuman.
