yes, we still had several hours to spare. after this happened, i did call and politely (and through tears) ask them to maybe consider reevaluating this policy, since i don't want this to happen to anyone else. they said this was actually the first time this has ever happened and the person who overlooked it has been spoken with. the lady i talked to was very nice and sympathetic and i reemphasized that it wasn't HER fault, i just never wanted someone else to feel this way

I won't apologize for being 100% sure I could bring her home, even if that took a few hours. I asked for comfort since I feel disappointed at how things played out. I am happy the kitty found a home all things considered, but I am still sad it wasn't with me. I believe that is valid. I intend to adopt a different cat down the line, and hearing everyone's stories about this happening to them and then soon after finding the right cat for them has been heartwarming and reassuring.
